Secondly, to extend to you and ...... · <br /> file members of your staff an invitafion to visit our cmnpus during tile operational dates <br /> of the program which begins June 20, 1977. <br /> <br />The program scheduled to operate for a period of slx weeks provides a constroctive outlet <br />for the summertinm euergies of our nation's youth at no cost to the participants. It Ls <br />a joint partnership operated'by the Couununity Sen, ices Adminis!rafion, the National <br />Collegiate Athletic Association, and selected institutions of higher education. <br /> <br />Many needy and undeqlfivileged young people are aided by rite NYSP wlfich provides <br />sports training, athletic competition, and exposure to the benefils of higher education on <br />an uaprecedented scale. Expert instruction and competent supen'ision will be available, <br />along with the nsc of superior facilities' of'which mauy youflt may not have othenvise <br />enjoyed. <br /> <br />Instnmtion is made available to boys and girts raoging in ages from ten to eighteen years <br />of age. The areas are swimmblg, basketball, softball, gymuasties, volleybaU, daoce, tennis, <br />track, and field. Each participant receives a c6mplete medical examinatioo aad is covered <br />by liability iosorauce. Daily meals are provided, also, health education instruction and <br />coooseling itl career opportuuities. <br /> <br />This program is one of total involvement by campuses and communifies fltrougbout file <br />country.
