AGREEMENT FOR REIMgUI:GEMENT <br /> <br /> PER DIEM COSTS OF MAINTENANCE OF <br /> <br /> PERSONS [N LOCAL CONFINEMENT FACILITIES <br /> <br /> STATE OF NORTH CAR(X. INA <br /> <br /> County of Cabarrus <br /> <br /> It is 5ereby agreed by and between the North Carolina Department of Correction and the County/ <br /> <br /> Gq'r, fXof Cabarrus that the North Carolina Department of Correction shall pay, and <br /> <br /> the County/City of Cabarrus __ shall accept the sum of $ 8.00 per day, <br /> <br /> per inmate, as the per diem cost of providing feed, clothing, personal items supervision and necessary <br /> medical services to those male misdemeanants committed to the custody of the County/City of <br /> <br /> Cabarrus serving sentences of 31 to 180 days. <br /> <br /> The County/City of Cabarru$ shall on such form as the Department of <br /> <br />Correction shall prescribe, presen( a monthly statement of the Der diem expense of maintaining all such <br />persons received serving sentences of 31 to 180 days (together with a statement of any extraordinary medi- <br />cai expenses incurred in the maintenance of such persons) to the North Carolina Department el Correction, <br />to the attention of the Assistant Secretary for Fiscal Affairs. 840 West Morgan Street, Raleigh, North CarD- <br />line 27603. Records of the cos[ for "~aintaining all sucl~ persons shall be kept by the County or the City, <br />and the Department of Correction. or a representative thereof, shall have the right to inspect said records <br />and audit the same at any time. <br /> <br /> The County/City of Cabarrus agrees tha~ the custodian of the local con- <br /> <br />finement facility of such County or City shall transmit any work release earnings el' such persons to the <br />North Carolina Department of Correction in a prompl manner. <br /> <br /> Except in the case of an emergency, the Sheriff/Chief of Police of_ Cabarrus <br /> <br /> Countv_ shall contact the North Carolina Department of Correction for express <br /> <br />authority prior to incurring extraordiuar¥ medical expenses in the course of maintaining persons for whom <br />per diem expenses are to be paid by the North Carolina Department el Correction. The Department of Cor- <br />rection may, at its option, receive the person in need of medical care into its custody in order to render <br />such medical care or treatment as may be required, in an emergency, the Sheri[f or the Chief of Police may <br />proceed to arrange for such care and treatment as may be required, but shall immediately notify the North <br /> <br /> <br />
