5 The County Board of Commissioners met. in an adjourned meeting Uuly 17, 1940, with the following members present: A. Brown, chairmau, J. Lee ~hite, C. M. Crowell, ~t. M. Morrison, and 0. E. Scarboro Motion by J. Lee White and seconded by C. M. Crowell, the Board ordered a donation of $250.00 to Co. E. 120th. Inf. for the year Motion by W. M. MOrrison and seconded by 0. E. Scarboro the Board ordered $111.00 be paid to the InstitSeeof Government, Chapel Hill, N. C for membership dues for the fiscal year 1940-A1. Commissioner J. Lee White introduced the following resolution and was seconded by C' M. Crowell: Be it ordered and resolved by the Board of County.Commissioners fo~ the County of Cabarrus that the Board of Commissioners after careful consideration has ascertained and found that it will be necesarry and does hereby adopt the following Budget Appropriations, ~nd tax rate, and doth hereby levy on all real and personal property and corporations excess as certified by State Board of Assessment in Cabarrus County for th~ tax year lSAO-A1 and fixes the tax rate at 67~ on the $100 valuation of such property, also a capitation tax of $2.00 on all male persons between the age of 21 and 50 years, $1.00 on all male dogs and $2.00 on all female dogs as prov&ded by State law.
