The Bo~:d:,of County Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met <br /> <br /> this ~.nd day of September, 1941 with the following members present~ <br /> J Lee White, Temporary Chairman, C M Crowell,. W M ~orrison and O E <br /> ~carboro. Aheentt W A Brown, Chairman. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by 0 E Scarboro and seconded by C M Crowell that <br /> <br />· e following road petitions be approvedl <br /> <br /> Sweet Gum Street and Irene Ave. in Eannapolia ia the southeastern <br /> <br /> · rt,and running East to U S High-ay No. 29-A, to be maintained by State <br /> <br /> [ighway and Public Works Con. lesion. <br /> <br /> Also to widen Flora Street in Kannapolis to at least 2~ feet. <br /> <br /> Commissioners W M Morrison introduced the following order authorizing <br /> <br /> ~ounty bonds, which was read and is as followsl <br /> <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $60,000e00 BONDS FOR SCHOOL <br /> <br /> BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT <br /> <br /> '~IEIt~S the Bo~d of ~:luoation of Cabarrus County h~s oert~ied to thi, <br /> <br />Board a resolution passed by said Board of Eduction on August 4, 1941, <br />shoeing that it is necessary in order to maintain the constitutional six <br />nonths' scBool te~ to provide the school improvements hereinai~cer men- <br /> <br />tionad~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no funds are available for said imprevenenta and no provision <br /> <br />has been made by local tax or otherwise by which the said improwments ca <br /> <br /> ,e provided, and the ~rd of Education has requested this Board to ordez <br /> <br />and issue County bonds in order to seeure the necessary funds so that <br /> <br />said school improvements may be provided; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners has oareful~v examined the facts <br /> <br />and has determined and hereby finds as a fact that it has become the dut~ <br />of said Board of Commissioners, acting as an administrative agent of the <br />State in providing a S~&te! s~em of publio.~sc~o~ls, t~ order the!eaU.ante <br />of a sufficient amount of 0ounty bonds to provide all of tM school im- <br />provements hereinafter mentioned i~ order to maintain the constitutional <br />six m~nths, school term, the estimated cost of which improvements is <br />$60,000,00~ now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDERED AND RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the Coun~ y <br /> <br />of Cabarrrus ~ <br /> <br /> le That Bonds of Cabarrus County by issued pursuant to the County <br /> <br />Finance Act, as amended, in an amount not exceeding $60,000,00 for the <br /> <br />purl~ee e£-providing the following school improvements in order to <br /> <br />maintain the constitutional six months' school <br /> Vocational Building at Eannapolis, N. C. <br /> Building for colored children at Shankletcwn <br /> <br /> Purchase of l~nd, arohitectual fees, engineering fees, legal <br /> <br /> and administrative charges, furniture and equipment. <br /> <br /> <br />
