The Board of County Commissioners m~ t this 1st day of December, 194~ <br /> <br />with the Following members present: J Lee White, Temporary Chairman, <br /> <br /> 0 E Scarboro, W M Morrison and C M Crowell. <br /> <br />Absent: W A Brown, Chairman <br /> <br /> Lotion was made by C M Crowell and seconded by 0 N Scarboro that <br /> <br />H L Sanders be exempt from poll tax for the year 1941,. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by C M Crowe 11 and seconded by O E Scarboro that <br /> <br />State Highway and Public V~orks Commission be requested to widen Pless <br /> <br />Street and Parkwood Section of No. 4 Township. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W M Morrison and seconded by C M Crowell that <br /> <br />Caswell Training School be given $10.00, and Children's .Home Society <br /> <br />of N. C. Inc. be given $50.00. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by C M Crowell and seconded by 0 E Scarboro that <br /> <br />Mrs J H Howell be.exempt from paying J H Howell's poll tax on account <br /> <br />of Mr. Howell be deceased. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W M Morrison and seconded by C M Crowell that <br /> <br />L S Myers, of Hotel Concord, be given priviledge to erect sign on County <br /> <br />property for Hotel Concerd. <br /> <br /> D Ray McE~ ahem, Clerk of the Superior Court of Cabarr,m County <br /> <br />presented his annual report to the Board and on Motion by ~; M Morrison <br />and seconded by C M Crowell that C N Field and J Lee White '.be appointed <br />as a committee to audit the settlement of the C S C and upon the <br /> <br /> approval of this Committee the same is hereby accepted and ordered pub- <br /> <br />liahed and recorded. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by C M Cro,ell and seconded by O E Scarboro that <br /> <br />the Board adopt the following order and resolution: That every person, <br />firm or corporation in whose name any poll or property, real or person- <br />al is to be listed, to list said property or poll with the proper list <br />taker, in accordance with ownership, and v~lue as of the 1st day of <br />January, during the month of January according to State Law. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W M Morrison and seconded by C M Crowell that <br /> <br />following be appointed list takers for the year of 1942: <br /> <br />To~-~..~hip #1 D B McCachren Harrisburg, N.
