The Board of County Co~missioners met May 1, 1944, with the following <br /> members present: J. Lee White, Chaimman, W. M. Morrison, C. M. Crowel!, <br /> Ray W. Cline and H. L. Fink. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W. M. Morrison, and seconed by Homer ~'. Fink, that <br /> William W. Perry be exempt from paying poll tax for life and to be <br /> exempt from last years poll tax, if any. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W. M. Morrison, and seconed by Homer z. Fink, that <br /> the following applications to sell beer be approved: J. M. Green, <br /> W. C. Peurifoy, and L. H. Hooper. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W. M. Morrison, and seconed by C. M. Crowell that <br /> Cabarrus County pay expenses of Assistant County Demonstration Agent <br /> for Canning. <br /> <br /> Motion by ~. M. Crowell and seconded by W. M. Morrison that juror pay <br /> ~ be increased to $3.50 per day effective June, 1944. <br /> <br /> Motion by Ray W. Cline, and seconded by W. ~. Morrieon that Cabarrus <br /> County take $25.00 add for Done-A-Roamin' club. <br /> <br /> ~.~ Motion was made by C. M. Crowell and seconded by W. M. Morrison that <br /> the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus under the <br /> authority conferred in the revenue act of 1942 hereby levied on all <br /> subjects of tawation except Building & Loan Association set out in <br /> Schedule "B" of said act and not prohibited in said Act for County <br /> purposes. ~aid license tax shall be for twelve months and shall be <br /> collected by the Sheriff or the tax collector of Cabarrus C~unty and <br /> said license shall be issued by said officer. From June 1st, 1944, to <br /> <br /> May 31st, 1945. <br />--- w~s made <br />~ Motion/b~ W.M. Morrison and seconded by C. ~. Crowell that .State <br /> <br /> Highway and Public Works Commission be requested to take over a~d <br /> maintain the following roads: Isabelle Avenue in Kannapolis~ ~and <br /> Cherrywood Avenue, in KanD~polis. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by W. Ray Cline and seconded by W. M. Morrieon that <br /> County maps as presented by J. Lewis Peck, be accepted and following <br /> be made part of minutes. <br /> North Carolina <br /> County of Cabarrus <br /> <br /> REVISED COUNTY MAINTENANCE MAPS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Zhe State Highway and ~ublic Works Commission has filed with <br /> the Board of Comm! ssioners of the County of Cabarrus a maintenance map <br /> designated as Cabarrus County-Seventh Division showing all public roads <br /> maintained directly or indirectly by t~e state; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appear~ that any changes as shown on this map are for the <br /> best interest of the road system of the said county; <br /> <br /> i NOW, TH~P~EFORE, the s aid map and all changes shown thereon are hereby <br /> i apProved and and said is the official <br /> ratified, <br /> map <br /> hereby <br /> adopted <br /> as <br /> <br /> <br />
