Commissioner W. M. Morrison introduced the following order author- <br /> <br />izing County bonds, which was read: <br /> <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $55,000 SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS <br /> <br /> WHERFAS, the Board of Education of Cabarrus County has certified <br /> <br />to this Board a resolution passed by said Beard of Education on August <br />6, 1945, w~ewing that it is necessary in order to maintain the constit- <br />utional six months' school term to provide the following s~ol inprove- <br />ments in Cabarrus County: <br /> <br /> Toilet and sew~age ~sposal facilities at the Winecoff School. <br /> <br /> New shop and equi~ent for the Vocational A~ricultural Department <br /> <br /> at the Harrisburg Schoole <br /> <br /> Lunchroom and equipment, toilet and sewage disposal facilities <br /> <br /> at the Hartsell School, <br /> <br /> Toilet facilities at the Harrisburg School, and Toilet facilites~ at '., <br /> <br /> the Bethel School: <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WNEREAS, said resolution represents that no. funds are now available <br /> <br />and no provision has been made by local tax by which the said school <br />improvements can be provided and requests this Beard to order and issue <br />a sufficient amount of County bonds in order that said school improve- <br />ments may be provided; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has carefully examined the <br /> <br />~acts and has determined and hereby finds as a fact that said statements <br />of said resolution are true and that it has become the dut$ of said <br />Board of Commissioners, acting as an administrative agent of the State <br />in providing a State system of public school~9 to order the issuance of <br />a sufficient ~o~t of County bonds to provide said school improvements <br />in order to maintain the constitutional six month,s school term: now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT 0RD~ERED AND RE~LV~D by the Board of Ce~ssi~ners ~r the <br /> <br />County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> 1. That bonds of Cabarrus County be issued, pursuant to the <br /> <br />County Finance Act, as amended, in an amount net exceeding $55,000 for <br />the ourpese of paying all or a portiau of the cost of providing the <br />school improvements mentioned in the first preamble hereof in order to <br />maintain the constitutional six months' school term in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> 2. That a tax su~fficient to pay the principal and interest of said <br /> <br />bonds shall be ~nn,,~11 y levied and collected. <br /> <br /> 3. That a statement of the County debt has bee~ filed with the <br /> <br />Clerk and is open to public Lnspection. <br /> <br /> &. That this order shall take effect thirty days after the first <br /> <br />pub]_ica~ thereof after final passage, unless in the meantime a <br /> <br /> <br />
