The Board of ~ommissioner8 for the County of Cabarrus, North Caroli <br /> <br />met in adjorned regular session on May 20, 1946, at lOgO0 o'clock Ac Mo <br /> <br />the Courthouse, in ~onoord, North Carolina, the usual place of meeting. <br /> <br /> Present~ ChaA~aan J. Lee ~hite, and <br /> <br />Commissioners C. h. Crowell, W. h. Morrison, H. L. l~ink and ~ay W. Cline <br /> <br />Absent ~ None <br /> <br /> The Chairman announced that this was the date and hour fixed by the <br /> <br />Board for the public hearing upon the following bond ordert <br /> <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $870,000 <br /> <br /> SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS <br /> <br />and that the ~oard would immediately hear any and-all citizens and tax- <br /> <br />payers who might desire to protest against the issuance of said bonds. <br /> <br /> No citizen or taxpayer of the County appeared, either in person or <br /> <br />attorney, to protest against the issuance of any of said bonds, and the <br />Clerk announced that no protest in writing, signed by any citizen or tax-. <br />payer, had been presented. <br /> <br /> Thereupon, upon noti~n of 0ommiseloner ~. M. ~orrison · seconded by <br /> <br />Commissioner C. M. Crowell, and carried the order introduced and passed on <br />rst reading on May§, 1946, authorizing $870,000 School Building Bonds <br />s read a second tine and placed upon its final passage. The vote upon <br />the final passage of said order was; <br /> <br /> A~es~ Commissioners J. Lee White, Chairman, C. M. Crowell, W. M. <br /> <br />Morrison, H. L. Fink and Ray W.Cline <br /> Eoea I No ne <br /> <br /> The Chairman then announced that the order authorizing $870,000 ~o ol <br /> <br /> ~uilding Bonds had ps'used. . <br /> <br /> The Clerk was thereupon directed t o publish in the Concord Tribune <br /> <br />~ne in each of two successive weeks, the ~ond order which was finally pa~ sed <br />this day, and to p~blish at the foot of said bond order the appended <br />as required by the County Finance Act. <br /> <br /> Commissioner C. M. Crowell thereupon introduced the following resol~- <br /> <br />finn which was reads <br /> <br /> ~F~0LUTION CALLING A S~ECIAL ELECTION <br /> <br /> BE IT ~ESOLVED by the Board of CommissiOners for the ~ounty of C~ba~.rus~ <br /> <br />Section 1. Tha~ a special election is hereby called to be held througho t <br />Cabarrua ~ounty on Tuesday· July 2, 1946, between 6=30 A. M. and 6~0 P~ M. <br />Eastern Standard Time, at which the~'e shall be submitted to the qualifie¢ <br />borers of Cabarrua %unty the following questions~ <br /> <br /> 1. Shall an order finally passed May 20, 1946, authorizing not exceedS.nS <br /> <br />$870,000 School Building Bonds of Cabarrue County for enlarging and erect.ins <br /> <br />school buildings in said County and acquiring necessary equipment , and <br /> <br /> <br />
