Lee ~rhite, and Commissioners W. 1~. ~orrison, R. W. Cli~e, and iH. <br />L. <br /> Absent: C. M. Crowell. <br /> <br /> After dalling the meeting to order and after the Clerk had called the roll~! the me] ~bers <br /> <br /> of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus sat at thetg~bleaat which the $ounty <br /> Board cf Elections was holding its meeting and thereupon said County Board of ~lections~and <br /> said Bcard of Commissioners, astwo separate bodies, separately received from the registSat~ <br /> <br /> of election in the various preciencts of the County of babarrus the returns <br /> and <br /> judges <br /> <br /> the special election held July 2, l?h6. <br /> <br /> After said returns had been canvassed by said Board of Commissioners, being simul-1 <br /> <br /> taneously with the canvassing thereof by ~he County Board of Elections in the same place, <br /> Commissioner H. L. Fink introduced the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> THE CONKASSING OF THR RETURNS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ~u,.-2, 1 <br /> RESOLUI ION <br /> RELATIN <br /> TO <br /> <br /> AND DETERMINING THE RESULT THEREOF. <br /> <br /> B~ IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> S~ction 1. That the returns of the special election held July 2, 19h6 ha~ing beei <br /> <br /> received from the proper election officers and the Board having canvassed the s~me, the <br /> <br /> follo~ng facts are hereby found and determined: <br /> <br /> (~) That each registrar and .judge for the special election held in the CoUnty of <br /> <br /> Cabarr~s on July 2, 19h6 was duly qualified by law and had taken the necessary ~ath. <br /> <br /> (~.) That the election officers had incorporated-in their returns not only the numl~er <br /> <br /> of voters cast for and against each of the two questions submitted, but also the number ~f <br /> <br /> voters .registered and qualified to vote in each precinct in the election. <br /> <br /> (~.,) That this Board has examined the special registration books maud for ~aid elevation. <br /> (¢~) That at said election there were submitted to the qualified voters of Isaid Co, mty <br /> <br />· the fo lowing questions: <br />t lo ~Shall an order finally passed ~ay 20, 19~6, authorizing not exceeding $810,0OO S!hool <br /> Bui: ding Oonds of Cabarrus Uounty for enlarging a~d erecting school building~ in sai~ <br /> Cou~ ty and acquiring necessary equipment, and a ta~ fpr s aid bonds, be approved? <br /> ~/2. Shall an ad valorem tax not exceeding ten cents (10¢) on each $100 assessed val of <br /> <br /> re~ i and personal property in the County of Cabarrus be levied to provide supplemental <br /> <br /> fun¢ s for the support of schools in the County? <br /> <br /> S~ ction 2. That the following schedule correctly shows the designations of the sezeral <br /> <br /> p~ecin~ ts in which such election was held, the number of voters registered at t~e special <br /> regist~ ation provided for said election and who were amcordingly qualified to vcte in e ~ch <br /> precinct in the election~ the number of votes cast in each precinct in favor of each of said <br /> questicns, the number cast against each of said questions, the number of spoiled ballot <br /> the to, als of such numbers: <br /> <br /> <br />
