The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina,
<br /> met in adjourned regular session at the County Courthouse in Concord, the regul ~r plac~
<br /> i' of meeting, at 10:OO o'clock, A. M., A~ust 18, 1947.
<br /> Present: ~hairman J. ~Lee White and Commissioners W. M. Morrison, C. M. C ~owell,
<br /> H. L. ?ink and Ray W, Cline.
<br /> Absent: None.
<br />
<br /> The Chairman announced that this was the date and hour fixed by the Boar for
<br /> the p~ ~lic hearing upon the following bond order:
<br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $%00,OO0 COURTHOUSE BONDS
<br />
<br /> and that the Board would immediately hear any and all citizens and taxpayers wh might
<br /> desire to protest against the issuance of said bonds.
<br />
<br /> No citizen or taxpayer of the County appeared, either in person or by at orney,
<br /> to protest against the issuance of any of said bonds, and the Clerk announced t mt no
<br /> protes in writing, signed by any citizen or taxpayer, had been presented.

<br /> ~ Thereupon, upon motion ~HC~ommissioner C. M. Crowell, seconded by Commis goner
<br /> W. M. ~orrison and carried, th~-~H%roduced and passed on first reading on A~gus ~ 4, 194 7
<br /> autho~zing $500.00 Courthouse BOnds was rea~ a second time.and placed upon its final
<br /> passage. T.he vote upon the final passage of said order was.

<br /> at the~foot of said bond order the appended note as required by the County Finahce Act
<br /> as amended. .

<br /> RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION.

<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus
<br /> Section 1. That a special bond election is hereby called to be held on 5Aesday~
<br /> September 23, 1947, between 6:30 A. M. ~ud 6:30 P. M., Eastern Standard Time, a ) which
<br /> there shall be submitted to the qualified voters of Cabarrus County the followi
<br /> questi ~n:
<br /> Shall an order ~nally passed August 18, 1947, authorizing not exceeding $500,0(0
<br /> C~ourth~use Bonds of Cabarrus County for the purpose of remodeling the Cabarrus ~ounty
<br /> Courthouse and e~ecting and equipping an addition thereto, and a tax for said b ~nds, be
<br /> approv ~d?
<br /> Section 2. That for said election the regular registration books for el ~ctions
<br /> in said County shall be used and such books shall be open for the registration ~f
<br /> voters ~t theretofore registered, from 9: A. M. until sunset on each day, exc ~pt
<br /> Sunday and holidays, beginning Saturday, A~gust 30, 1947 and closing Saturday.Septe~
<br /> 13, 19 7. O~ e ach Saturday during suc~ regi§tration period such books shall be open a~
<br /> the po~ling places. Saturday, September 20, 1947, shall be ~hallenge Day.

<br /> Section 3. That the Clerk shall cause to be published in the Concord Tr ~bune, ~ ~t
<br /> later than A gust 23, 1947, and again not later than A~gust 30, 1947, and again nob lat, r
<br /> than S~ptemb~r 6, 1947, a notice substantially in the following form:

<br /> NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION AND SUPPLEMENTAL REGISTRATION IN THE C01 ~IY OF
<br /> CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA.

<br /> A special bond election will be held throught Cabarrus County between 6 ~O A. M
<br /> and 6.:30 P. M., Eastern Standard Time, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1947, at which the:e will
<br /> be submitted to the qualified voters of said County the following questions
<br /> Shall an order fianally passed August 18, 1947, authorizing not exceedin ~, $500. OO

<br /> Courthouse Bonds of abarrus County for th~ purpose of remodeling the Cabarrus ~unty
<br /> Courthouse and erecting and equipping an addition thereto, and a tax for said b ~nds, b
<br /> approv ~d?
<br /> The question hereinabove set forth contains a statement of the purpose for whicl
<br /> the b~ds are authorized by the order referred to in such question.
<br /> If sa~id bonds are issued, a tax will be levied for the payment of the principal ~nd
<br /> intere st thereof upon all taxable property in Cabarrus County.
<br />
<br /> For said election the regular registration books for elections in said C~unty
<br /> shall ~e used, and such books shall be opened in each preceinct for the registration o~
<br /> woters, not theretofore registered, from 9 A. M. until smset on each day, except Su~_da~
<br /> and hc 4idays, beginning Saturday, A~gust 30, 1947, ~d~~ Saturday, September
<br /> 1947. On each Saturday during such registration period said books shall be open at th,
<br /> poll~ ~ places. Saturday, September 20, 1947, is Challenge Day.
