The Board of CoNnty Commissioners met at their regular meeting at the <br /> Courthouse on Monday , May 2, 1949 with the following members present: <br /> J. Lee ~Vhite, chairman, Ray W. Cline, Homer L. Fink, P. Ernest Stallings <br /> and C. M.~ Crowell. ~ <br /> <br /> Mc~%On made. by Ray W. Cline seconded by C.. M. ~rowell that James Frank <br /> Steen be given free license to peddle on accounty of being a disabled World <br /> Var One Ve~e~n. <br /> <br /> Motion made by Ray W. Cline seconded by C. M. Crowell that ~the Flor~e~ce <br /> <br /> Crittenton Home be given donation of $400.00. <br /> <br /> Motion'made by Ray W. Cline seconded by P1 E. Stallings that the followt ~g <br /> application for read improvement be requested by State Highway and Publ~ <br /> workd commission- : Build shoulders on Highway No. 29 A through Mi~, <br /> also put stop light at ~°uth Ma~n' St~ an~ 0i~ Bethpag~-Road and caution <br /> lights at intersections of Rankin St. , Walker St., Plymouth St. and so~th <br /> Main street. Take over and gravel Lowe Street in #4 Township, Take ove~ <br /> and maintain Martin Drive in #4 Township. Scrape and sand Lilac Avenue in <br /> <br /> No. 4 Township. Take over and maintain Road known as Incinerator Road <br /> <br /> No. 11 Township. Tar and gravel road from Cold Springs ~nurch to Stanly County <br /> <br /> line. Take over and maintain Haven Street in No. 4 Township. <br /> <br /> Motion made by Ray W. Cline seconded by C. ~. Crewel] that an ad be put in <br /> Kannapolis Independent and also Concord Tribune Advertising the Aale of the <br /> land near the Depot containing 13 acres reserving the right to except o~ it <br />· reject any and all bids. <br /> <br /> Motion made by P. E. Stallings seconded by C. M. Crowell that the cotto: <br /> weigher for ~abarrus ~ounty be abolished as of first Monday in December <br /> 1950. <br /> <br /> Motion by Ray W. Cline seconded by P. E.
