The Board of County Commissioners held their regular meeting August 1, ~ 1949 at the Co~urtho~se with the following members present: J. Lee .White, .chairman, Ray W. Cline, Homer L. FinS, C. M. Crowe!l and P. Ernest Stall.s. Absent; None A Motion was made by Ray W. Cline seconded by C. M. Crowell that the ~ollowing road petitions be approved and forwarded to State Highway and P~lic works commission pave road from ~73 to Gold ~Hill ro~d by St. John.. ~uther~Church about 3 miles, Pave road from St. Johns ~uther Church to Mt~ 'Pleasant and Salisbury Road about 2 260 miles, tar Lisk Street on #2 Township pave Cadillac Ave from Packard Ave to Ford Street in ~4 TS, hard surface road from Georgeville to N. C. #27. Put Culbert on ~oach Street. Motion by ~ay W. Cline seconded by C. M~ Crowell that W. B. Russ be give:~ free privilege license to peddle on accou~~~of being disabled.. Motion by C. M. CrCeell seconded by P. Ernest Stallings that M. D. SWari:~gen bid as per contra~t B~ea~A~;th~d~ollowing bids were opened by Ma~vi:~ ~inecoff $5382.50, C. F. McManus $4170.00, M. D. Swaringen $3140.70 . Motion by Ray W. ~line Seconded by PI Ernest Stallings that. John McArary be given free licenses to peddle on account of being disa~ ed. ~otion made by Ray W. Cline seconded by P. Ernest Stallings that Chamber '-' of Commerce be given $2000.00 for Cabarrus County Sesqus-Centenial Gold Celebration Inc. Motion made by Ray ~'. Cline seconded by C. M. Crowell that Robert Nesbit be given license to peddle on account of being a disable veteran of Worl, ~?as II. Motion made by Ray W. Cline seconded by C. M.
