The Board of County Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting September 2, 1952 at 10.'00 A. M. with the following members present: J. Lee White, chairman, Homer, L. Finkj M. Smoot Lyles L. Bo,man Barrier and P. Ernest Stallings. ~otion by P. Ernest Stallings seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that State Highway that State Hig~ and Public W~rks c~ssion be requestedj to fix and take over the following roads in .Cabarrus County- Township 8- Road runs from High~ay No. 73 to Pleasant Hills Develol~snt adjoining the ~Town of Mt. Pleasant N. C..and is known as Pine Street, Eagle Street and Sawmill St. 3/4 mile. To,~ship ~11- Road runs from Charlotte Highway at C. B. Cook's to Flint Rock Service Station tad is known as Highland Ave. 1/4 mile. Township #2- Road runs from Poplar Tent Road south to the home of C. O. Carrik~. 1/2 Tom, ship ~4- Road runs from Lowe and White Streets and Crosses Central Ave and is kno.-~ as Lowe and White St. 1/2. mile. Township #4 - Road runs from Triece St. to Rogers Lake read and is known as South Jackson St. 2 blocks. Township #4 - Road runs from Wilkinson ave to Be~hpage road and is known as South ~ouise Ave and Center Drive. 1700 feet. Township ~11 - Road runs from Pinecrest Drive to dead end and is known as Hickoyr Grove Drive. 830 feet. Townshi~ ~9~ - Road runs from a "U" shaped or half circle shaped read from and to the Winecoff Scho..1 road to the Believe Development property of T. C. Litaler md is known as Belvedere Drive and Vall. Drive. a/lo miles. Township ~4 - Road runs from Highwa~ No. 29A or South Main Street Kannapglis to Richard Avenue and is kno~ as Rankin Street. 2 miles. Motion by M. Smoot Lyles ~dts~onded by Stallings that county pay the City Fire Department of Concord and Mt. Pleasant and Kanrapolis and other fire departments $70.00 for all cm~ls made out~de corporate city limits. $35.00 will be assessed against the property owner and $35.00 from the county. This will only be paid to Eannapolis department for services rendered outside of district they now cover.
