Lee White, Chairman <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Homer L. Fink, L. BowmanBarrier, P.E.Stallings. <br /> <br /> Absent: M. Smoot. Lyles. <br /> <br /> F~tion by P.Ernest Stallings, seconded by L. BowmanBarrier that State Highway and ~ublic Works <br /> commission be requested to take over and Hardsurface Coach Street in No. 4 Township. <br /> <br /> Motion by L. Bowman Barrier seconded by P. Ernest Stallings that Low Bid of W. T. Blackwelder for <br /> $25OO.0Obe accepted as to Specification as presented by Charles N.Field and approved by the County <br /> Attorneys . The following also presented bids .. M.D. Swaringen $5735.00: Theodore C. Allison <br /> $3885.00,' and K.D. Williams $4236.50. <br /> <br /> "Copy of' the Advertisement for Bids." <br /> <br /> Sealed proposals will be received b'.~ the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North <br /> Carolina, until 11:O0 o'clock A,. M. on Monday, the 7th day of December, 1953, in the office of <br /> <br /> the Board of CountyCommissioners in the Cabarrus County court house for painting of the Cabar~ls <br /> County Court house and jail as hereinafter set out, a t which time said proposals will be publicly <br /> opened and read. <br /> <br /> 'A'he contract will be awarded under a single bi4 for the following work: <br /> <br /> Exterior of Court house and Jail (2 coats) <br /> <br /> 2. Superior Courtroom (2 _coats) <br /> <br /> 3. The two stairways at the front of the oourt house and the hall at the top of said stairwa <br /> <br /> (2 coats) <br /> <br /> 4. Court house roof ard guttering (1 coat) <br /> 5. Outtering and all tin on th~ ~ <br /> ~ail roof (1 coat) <br /> <br /> Ail paint shall be of first quality and of such colors as the Board of County Comi~sioners shall <br /> <br /> select. <br /> <br /> Information as to the surfaces to be painted may be obtained from the off,co of the County Accou~.t ~t <br /> <br /> in the court house. <br /> <br /> Eaeh proposal must be accompanied by a DEPOSIT of CASH or a CASHIER'S CHECK is~led by or a CERTIFi ED <br /> C.~..CK drawn on a bank insured by ti~e Federal Dep sit Insurance Corporation and PAYABLE TO CABARRUS <br /> COUntrY in an amount equal to 5% of the.gross price bid (or 2% cash or check and 3% bid bond), the ~eposi~ <br /> to be retained in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within 10 <br />'~ days after the ~ward or to give satisfactory surety as required~ <br /> ~o bidder may withdraw his bid within 10 days after the opening thereof. <br /> The right to accep~ or rejec~t any or all bids and waive informalities is reserved. <br /> Board of Count, yCommissioners of Cabarrus County, N.C. <br /> - John R.
