The Board of County Commissioners held their regular meeting August 2, 1954 at 10:00 A. <br /> <br />o'clock with the following members present: <br /> J. Lee White, Chairman <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Homer L. Fink, L. Bowman Barrier, P. E. Stallings and <br /> <br /> M. Smoot Lyles. <br /> <br /> Motion by P. Ernest S,jallings, seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that the State Highway andPublic <br />Works Commission be requested to Black top Fisher Road ~in No. 8 Township:Work and Gravel Brookwood Drive in No. <br /> <br />5 Township: ; Scrape road bed, Clean ditches and fill ruts on Bel-Aire Avenue in No. 4 Township; <br />Straighter~~. widen gg~ade and top s°il Hilltop Street in No. 4 Township,- Take over and <br /> <br />Maintain Sloop Avenue in No. 4 towhship; Also the property owners of Eddleman Plaza on John Street <br /> <br />filed a petition for Hard surface of this Street7 They ~also agreed to sppplement highway <br /> <br />~d~ds with their personal funds of $150.00 to have the street hard surfaced. <br /> <br /> Motion by L/ Bow~_.__~n Barrier, seconded by P. Ernest Stallings that the Florence Critterton <br />Home be given $500.00 and that Concord Armory be given $1200.00. <br /> <br /> Motion by L. Bowman Barrier, seconded by Homer L. Fink that Lester Newton Wilkinson <br /> <br />be given peddlers license on account of being a disabled world War II Veteran. <br /> <br /> All July bills were presented and were ordered paid by the County Co~ssion~s. ~ <br /> <br /> There being no further business, the board adjorned to meet August 9, 1954 at lO:OO A. M. <br />in regard to the Domestic ~lations Court. . <br /> <br /> <br />
