The Board of County Commissioners met in an adjorned meeting~August 9, 195~ with the <br /> <br />following members present: <br /> <br /> J. Lee White, Chairman <br /> <br /> Commissioners- Homer L. Fink, L. Bowman Barrier, P. E. Stallings and <br /> <br /> M Smoot Lyles. <br /> <br /> The Board met to ~r~e~view.~applications and appoint a Judge for a Domestic Relations <br /> <br />Court for Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> Applications received by the County Commissioners for Judge of Domestic Relations Court <br />were az~follows: <br /> <br /> Miss Fannie M. Farmer <br /> <br /> A. Campbell Cline <br /> <br /> Miss Norma Howard <br /> <br /> Mrs. E. E. Barrier <br /> Robert L. Warren <br /> E. J. Harbison <br /> <br /> After reviewing all applications the Board adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br /> Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County is of the opinion that there <br /> <br />should be established in Cabarrus County a Domestic Relations Court; <br /> <br /> And whereas, authority to establish a Domestic Relations Court is vested in the Board of <br /> <br />County Commissioners of any county desiring to establish a Domestic Relations Court under <br /> <br />General Statutes ?-lO1; <br /> <br /> And whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County desires to establish a <br /> <br />Domestic Relations Court in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Laws of the State of <br />North Carolina, as set out in Chapter ?, Sub-chapter ~ of the General Statutes of North Carolina, <br />entitled "Domestic Relations Courts": <br /> <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Count~ Commissioners of Cabarrus County that, <br />pursuant to the authority vested in said Board by General Statutes ?-lO1, there be and is hereby <br />established for the County of Cabarrus a Domestic Relations Court under the provisions of <br />General Statutes of North Carolina, Chapter ?, Sub-chapter <br /> <br /> Be it Further Resolved that the effective date of the establishment of said Cotubt sh~ll be <br /> <br />the- ls~ day -oS- <br /> <br /> Be it Further Resolved that Miss Fannie Memory Farmer be and she is hereby elected judge of <br /> <br />the "Domestic Relations Court of Cabarrus County" for the term commencing on the 1st day of <br /> <br />October, 195~, to the second Monday in July , 195~, and until her successor shall have been <br /> <br />elected and at a salary of $~00.00 month, with travel allowance of $600.00 <br /> qualified, <br /> per <br /> per <br /> <br />year. <br /> <br /> Be it Further Resolved that the said Miss Fannie Memory Farmer, Judge of t~e "Domestic <br /> <br />Relations Court of Cabarrus County", shall appoint a clerk for said court in accordance with <br /> <br />the provisions of General Statutes ?-lO~ and that the said clerk of said court shall be paid <br /> <br />by the County of Cabarrus a salary of $ per month. <br /> <br /> Comissioner Barrier moved the adoption of the foregoing resolution; duly seconded by <br /> <br />Commissioner Stallings and adopted by a unaminour vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
