The Board of County Commissioners met on June 20, 1955 at 10:00 A. M. at the Court House <br /> <br />with the following members present: <br /> <br /> Chairman: J. Lee White <br /> <br /> Commissioners: M. Smoot Lyles, P.E.Stallings, and Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Absent: L.Bowman Barrier <br /> <br /> The following bids were presented to the Board: <br /> G. D. Medlin Mt. Pleasant Electric $1225.00 <br /> Litaker Electric Co., Kannapolis Electric $1100.00 <br /> <br /> John· R. Kiser Jr., Concord Electric 931.84 <br /> Tillm~n Electric Co., Kaunapolis $1590.00 <br /> <br /> Motion by P.Ernest Stallings seconded by Fr~k McCray that John R~ Kiser Jr,, be awarded <br />the contract to wire the County Building at $931.84 <br /> <br /> Motion by P.Ernest Stallings, seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board hereby applies to the Agent designated in the <br /> Executive Order, dated June 8, 1955 by the Governo~ of No~th Carolina, to hold on <br /> October 26, 1955 a referendum to determine whether or not the North Carolina Local <br /> Governmental ~mp~loye~e~,,~~S~s~em, as i~ periains to eligible members <br /> of this governmental ~n~t~/~a~-l~b~oordinated with the Old Age and Survivors Insurance <br /> provisions of the Federal Social Security Act. <br /> <br /> .....
