Smoot Lyles that the following resolution as <br /> <br /> County Home Propertyb · accepted azd that it be made a part of the minutes: <br /> <br /> Whereas Cabarrns County is the owner of a certain tract of land in No. 11 Township, Cabarrus <br /> County, North Carolina, being a part of the property formerly used as a County Home for Cabarrus <br /> County, and being particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at an iron stake at the southeast corner of the intersection of Highway 29-A and the <br /> Union Cemetery Road (said stake being about 30 feet south of the center of Highway 29-A and 30 <br /> feet east of the center of Union Cemetery Ro~), and runs thence, with the south edge of the <br /> right-of-way of Highway 29-A, N. 86-00 E. 432 feet to an iron stake on the south side of Highway <br /> 29-A, in the south edge of the right of way for Highway 29-A (said stake being 30 feet south of <br /> the center of Highway 29-A); thence S. 14-22 E. 336 feet to an iron stake by an oak; thence S. <br /> 89-55 E. 151 fett to an iron stake, the corner of a cyclone fence, thence, with the line of said <br /> cyclone fence, S. 7-12 E. 82.1 feet (passing a co~ner of said cyclone fence at 73.6 feet); thence <br /> S. 89-02 ~.. 393.4 feet to an iron stake between a Post Oak and a Black Oak; thence S. 0-58 W. <br /> 269.3 feet to an iron stake; t~ce S. 69-43 W. 727.4 feet (passing an iron stake at 362.4 feet) to <br /> an iron stake in the east edge of the right-of-way for Union Cemetery ~ead (said stake being 30 <br /> feet east of the center of Union Cemetery Road); thence, ~i~ the east edgeof the right of way for <br /> Union Cemeter~ Road, two lines as follows:First: N. 26-51 W. 504 feet, Second: N. 18-43 W. <br /> 481.7 f~tt, to the Beginning; and containing 11.9 acres, more or less; and, <br /> <br /> Whereas said property is no longer used by Caba~rus County for governmental purposes; and <br /> <br /> Whereas the Cabarr~s County Agricultural Fair, Inc. a non profit, non-stock, charitable, and <br /> benevolent 'corporation, Organized and existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina for <br /> the purPose of fu~thering and advancing intrest and knowledge in agriculture and for the further <br /> purpose of aiding and enco~xaging progress in education, is engaged in sponsoring an annual <br /> county-wide agricultural fair upon said tract of land, and is desirous of making substantial <br /> improvements upon said land to further this endeavor; and <br /> <br /> Whereas it is the sense of this body that an annual county agricultural fiat, sponsored <br /> for the advancement of agriculture and education, is of substantial benefit to the citizens of - <br /> Cabarrus County; and, <br /> <br /> Whereas said Caba~rus County Agricultural Fai~, Inc. has offered to purchase said tract of <br /> lar~ for use in furtherance of its purposes as hereinbefore set out; <br /> <br /> Now, therefore, Be It . <br /> <br /> RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> That t~s Chairman and the Clerk of this Board be and they are hereby authorized eo execute <br /> a good and sufficient deed to the property hereinbefore described from Oabarrus Countyb to the <br /> Cabarrus County Agricultural Fair Inc. PROVIDED, however, t hat said deed shall contain a <br /> provision whereby said prooperty shall revert to Cabarrus County, in the event the Caharrus County <br /> Agricultural Fair, Inc., ceases to function and operate for the ~arposes and objects as set out <br /> in its Certificate of Incorporation; <br /> <br /> <br />
