from the registrars and judges of election in the w§rious precincts of the County of Cabarrus the returns of the special election held on September lC, 1955. After said returns had been canvnssed by said Board of Commissioners, being simultaneously with the canvassing thereof by the County Board of Elections in the same Place, Commissioner W. Frank McCray introduced the following resolution which w~s read: RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF ~HE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD SEPTEMBER 10, 1955, AND DETE~MINTNG AND DECLARING IHE RESULT THEREOF. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: Section 1, That the returns of the special bond election held onSeptemberlO, 1955 having been received from the proper election officers and the Board having canvassed the same, the following facts are hereby found snddstermined: (a) That each registrar and judge for the ~o ecial bond election held in the County of Cabarrus on September 10, 1955, was duly qualified by law and had taken the necessary oath. (b) That the election officers had incorporated in their returns not only the number of votes cast for and against the 'question submitted, but also the number of voters registered and qualified to vote in each precinct in the election. (c) That at said election thera was submitted to the qualified voters of said County the following question: Sh~!l an order finally passed on July 18, 1955, a~thorizing the County of Cabarrus North Carolina, to contract a debt, in addition to any and all other debt which said County may now or hereafter have power or authority to contract, andin evidence ther~f to issue School Building bonds in an aggregate principal smount not exceeding $2,630,000 for the purpose of providing funds, with any athar funds available for such pur~ose, for erecting an additional school building and additional school plant faci,lities, remodeling cud enlarging existing school buildings andacquiring necessary land and equipment therefor in order to provide additional elementary ~nd secondary school facilities in the County of. Cabarrus to maintain the six months' school term in said County as required by Section 3 of Article IX of ~he Constitution, s~d authorizingthe levy and collection of a ~ufficient tax for the payment of the principal of and the interest on said bonds, be, approved? Section 2.
