The Board of County Commissioners met at their regular meeting on October 1, 1956 at <br /> <br /> the Courthouse at 10:O0 A. M. with the following members present : <br /> Chairman: J. Leek,White <br /> <br /> Commissioners: P. Ernest Stallings, M.Smoot Lyles, L.Bowman Barrier and W.Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Motion by M.Smoot Lyles seconded by P.Ernest Stallings, requesting the State Highway and <br /> Public Works Commission to exrect a stop sign at the intersection of Poplar Tent ~oad and <br /> <br /> Highway No. 29. Also the following road petitions were passed on~ <br /> <br /> No.5 Township- Hileman D~ive- Widen and Tar and Gravel <br /> <br /> No. 2 TownshX/e- Perry Street- Take over and maintain <br /> <br /> No. 11 Townskp- Eugenia Avenue - Widen and maintain <br /> <br /> Motion by M. Smoot Lyles seconded by L.Bowman Barrier that Frank McCray be authorized <br /> <br /> to dispose of liquor and Beer captured by Sheriff Department afte~ supplying Cabarrus <br /> <br /> County Hospital for medical purposes only.~ Ordered that W. Frank sell for the Board of County <br /> Commissioners, cans/case? of beer and ~rts-pints of bottled in bond liquor the same having <br /> been confiscated by the Sheriffs Dept of Cabarrus Co. and turned over/the Board of County <br /> <br /> Commissioners in all with the provisions of the laws of the State of No~th Carolina.The above amc <br /> includes all bear and liquor now pm ~and- all other quantities having been destroyed at the <br /> City of Concord incinerator under order of the Board of Co.
