At the regular monthly meeting held on July 7, 1758 at the Cabarrus County Courthouse <br />the Cabarrus ~ounty Commissioners met at l0 A M. with the following members present: <br /> <br /> Chairman: W.Frank McCray <br /> <br /> ommlssloners: L Bowman Barrier, M. Guy Isenhoor and P.Ernest STallings <br /> <br /> Motion by L Bowman Barrier ~econd~d by P Ereest taixlngs that the following road <br /> <br />>etitions be passed and sent to the State Highway and Public Works Comm. in Albemarle, N.C. <br /> No. i Township - Sunset Drive- (Work requested- not stated) <br /> No. 8 Township - Wingard Road - Take over and maintain <br /> <br /> No. 5Township - Road lruns from Mullis noad to Albert Tuckers Farm- Put on System and mainta <br /> N~-~ To~wnship -Belk Road - Surface road and straighten curves on South end of road. <br /> No. 9 TownsRip - Mauney ~oad. - Black top road. <br /> <br /> Motion by P Ernest Stallings seconded by L Bowman Barrier , authorizing W.Frank McCray, <br />~airman, to sign contract to repair water tank at the Health Department. <br /> <br /> Motion by P.Ernest Stallings, seconded by ~'. Guy Isenhour that the petition for <br /> <br />~reating Sanitary district .known as South Concord Sanitary district be ~.e?eive~. ~ that the <br />Chairman of the Board of ,Sommissione~s contact the ,State' Health Director t6 a~ange a date for <br />ublic heaxing on the petition and tha~'~he ;~hai~mem~;pah~'Lteh~a notice fo! such hea~ing when he is <br />notified of a suitable date by the State Health dizecto~. <br /> <br /> PETITION FOR ~A~ GF SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> Ne, the undersigned free holders within the boundaries of the territory described <br /> below, respectifully petition the Board of Commissioners fortheCounty of Cabarrus, <br /> North Carolina, to take all necessary action required by Article 12 of Chapter 130 <br /> of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the creation of South Concord Sanitary <br /> district comprising such territory, the objects proposed to be accomplished by the <br /> creation of such district being the acquisition, construction, maintenance and operation <br /> of a water supply and distribution system, a sewerage system, sewage disp. osat or <br /> treatment plant, providing adequate fire protection facilities, and such other utilities <br /> as may be necessary for the p~eservation and promotion of the public health and sanitary <br /> welfare within the district. <br /> <br /> All of the territory proposed to be in cluded in such sanitary district is located in <br /> Cabarrus County, North Carolina and the boundaries of such territory are as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the western boundary of the Main Line of the Southern Railroad <br /> opposite the center line of Short Street adjoining the 5outh side of the Franklin Mill <br /> property in South Concord, thence following said centerline of Short Street North 83 <br /> degrees ~eSt, 1500 feet; thence North 68 degrees 30 minutes West 620 feet more or less <br /> to a point halfway between ~ackson Street and the Old Charlotte Highway~ thence halfway <br /> between said streets, South 27 degrees West, h?~ £eet to the center of Rock~ell Road; <br /> thence 5outh ~ degrees East, 250 feet more or less to a point 100 feet east of Jackson <br /> Street; thence parallel to Jackson Street in two courses South 38degrees West, 560 <br /> feet and South ~ degrees West 820 feet more or less to the center of Sunset Creek; thence <br /> following said ~unset Creek downstream, : ~ following the various courses and meanderings <br /> thereof, and continuing to the western boundary of the Southern Railroad; tRnce following <br /> said western boundary of the railroad to the point of Beginning, <br /> <br /> <br />
