The Cabarrus County Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting <br /> <br /> at the Cabarrus County Courthouse on March 2,19~9 at 10:00 A M with the following <br /> <br /> members present: <br /> <br /> Chairman: W.Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Commissioners: L Bowman Barrier, P.Ernest Stallings, M.Smoot Lyles and <br /> <br /> W.Guy Isenhour <br /> <br /> Motion by L.BowmanBarrter, seconded by W. Guy Isenhour that the following <br /> <br /> road petitions be ~assed and sent to the State Highway and Public Works Comm. in <br /> Albemarle; also the two petitions asking for a stop light at the intersection of <br /> Cemetary Road and Rockwell Road and at th~ intersectionof Fairview Street <br /> and U.S. Highway 29 in Kannapolis, N.C.: <br /> <br /> Road in No. 2 Township - known as Highway 29- a cross over outlet for customers of 0akGrove Service Station <br /> <br /> No. 4 ~ownship - Asphalt three areas around Aycock School fo parking <br /> area and also the area behind the cafeteria. <br /> <br /> No. 3 Township - Build bridge across creek. <br /> <br /> Motion by M. Smoot Lyles seconded by P.Ernest Stallings that Special Term <br /> <br />of Criminal Court be held March 23, 1959. <br /> <br /> Resolution introduced by P.Ernest Stallings and seconded by M.Smoot Lyles <br /> <br />and passed unanimous: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners request the North Caroli~ <br />Highway Commission to open an avenue in the Hartsell Mill Community West of Swink <br /> <br />Street and running parallel with Swink Street so as to relieve traffic on Swink <br />Street over w~thh approximately 1,000 children have to walk to and from school and- <br /> <br /> 2. That the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners request the North Caroli~ <br />Highway Commission to build side walks on both sides of Swink Street from where it <br />connects the highway at Stead Miller Mill to where it connects the highway at the <br />Norcott Mill. <br /> <br /> Motion by M. Smoot Lyles seconeed by P. Ernest Stallings that the County <br /> <br />Commissioners to along as usual as to terms of Court to call for Extra Session <br /> <br />when the money has been approprated. <br /> <br /> Motion by M.Smoot Lyles , seconded by P.Ernest Stallings that Wiles and <br /> <br />Caywood, auditors, be rehired for the year 1959-1960. <br /> <br /> <br />
