Pleasant, and all of th <br /> County Commissioners .for-Cabarrus County, respectfully desire-that your Board gtv~ ~ohSideration <br /> to the need of the completion of the clover leaf at :the intersection of N.C.HiGhways Ii9 and 73 <br /> near the Town of Mt~ Pleas'antl that-there are only three ramps completed at 'this intersection; <br /> that Highway 73 crosses over Highway 29; that due to heavy truck traffic flowing fromfharlotte <br /> to Albemarle .using this intersection the unfinished section of the clover leaf-appears.'to be the <br /> one needed most; the trucks and all traffic, in order togo east from Highway IiG, are required to <br /> use the only ramp on the east side of Highway IiG, which forces them to cross the west bound traffic <br /> lane of Highway 73 in order to proceed eastward; that this ramp connects with Highway 73 within a <br /> short distance of a sharp curvel the sight distance is very limited; this ramp is located on an <br /> abandoned portion o f Highway 73, but it should be connected with Highway 73 much closer to the <br /> intersection of the two highways so as to provide greater sight distance. <br /> We respectfully submit that the clover leaf at this intersection should be completed as a matter <br /> of traffic safety and that the sections of the clowr leaf should ~c ;~a4~ uniform to provide greate <br /> sight distance.Any .i considertion that you m$§ht give to this intersection will be of Great benefit <br /> to all motorists usinG the two highl~ays. <br /> the foregoing petition adoped by the Town Board of ~e Town of Mt Pleasant, this day of Feb 1961 <br /> <br /> <br />
