The C~barrus County Commissioners met at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, <br />September 3, 1963 at 10:00 a.m. at the County Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairmain, Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Oren Hill, McNeil P-'etrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyle <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer was by ~Rev. Charles <br />Efird. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and stand approved. <br />Lyles made the motion, seconded by McCray to s~nend the call meeting minutes of <br />August 8, 1963. The part to be amended is paragraph #2, sentence #4, which reads <br />"This is to be a supplimentary appropration taken out of intangible tax." The <br />amendment reads, w~is is to be a supplimentary appropration taken out of <br />General Fund." <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve two men, Hubert Keever <br />and Wallace B. McCool to fill unexpired term for Ray~l Oaks Sanitary District <br />Board. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kulis, of ~Eerican Air Surveys, presented his proposal for Cabarrus <br />County mapping program. He was told he would be advised later.. <br /> <br /> It was agreed to pay Smoot Lyles $10.00 for travel expense for using his <br />car in going to Gaston County to study their mapping program. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Lyles to adopt the resolution approving <br />Thomas Nelson as Cabarrus County Civil Defense Director. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> A letter was read by Cloie Hancock, Clerk, from Judge Frank M. Armstrong, <br />stating that Mr. Leonard W. Watts was officially appointed Superior Court Reporter <br /> <br /> Lyles made motion, seconded by Hill, to give County Farm Agent and County <br />Home Demostration authority to purchase a new Bell & Howell projector for the <br />sum of $500. The money to be taken out of each department's budget. ?ote <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Lyles made motion, seconded by Petrea to give Judge Warren permission to <br />assign two trustees to work at the SUrplus Food Warehouse. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gene Gomolka representing Aero Service, presented his proposal for <br />mapping Cabarrus County. He was advised he would be notified later. <br /> <br /> ~r. David Huffman of H. L. Yoh Company requested permission to submit a <br /> <br />proposal for county mapping. He was granted this permission. <br /> <br /> <br />
