The Cabarrus County Co~missioners met at their regular meetin9 Monday, June 1, 1964 at 10:00 a.m. <br />in the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Present~ Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, C. McNeil Petrea, Frank McCr~, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by William A. Rock, Jr. Minutes read by <br />Cloie Hancock and stand approved. <br /> <br /> Attorney Beckerdite read a resolution for an order authorizing the six million dollar school <br />bond. Petrea made motion, seconded by Lyles to adopt this resolution. (Resolution on pages 248-251) <br />Vote carried, l~r. Beckerdite read another resolution found on pages 251-252. Petrea made motion, <br />seconded by Hill to adopt this resolution. Vote carried. A1 Hurt, county accountant, presented <br />statement concerning school lnde~teness, found on pages 253-254. On pages 255-263 are resolutions <br />sulm~ttted by the school boards. <br /> <br /> Gice Allen, County Tax Collector, submitted the Schedule for Privilege License Taxes for <br />Cabarrus County. Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve this schedule. Vote Carried. <br />(Schedule found on pages 26h-267) <br /> <br /> Parents from Itarrislxirg School presented t~ee bids for a fence to go along the front of the <br />school. Commissioners advised parents to obtain bids requested same type fence and they would add <br />this expense to the countrY-:school budget. <br /> <br /> Willie Davis came before Board concerning his rural garbage route. He said he was notified <br />by Dr. Workman that he could no longer continue collecting garbage. He stated he did not receive <br />a notice for final meetings. Lawyer James Johnson spoke in l~r. Davist behalf. Mr. J. D. Hurst, <br />attorney, represented Leroy Ward on his garbage route. This is same situation as Willie Davis. <br />Hill made motion, seconded by James to go alon§ with Nr. Beckerditets rec~etklation to notify those <br />that did not get notice to have a hearing ........... with Dr. Workman and try and <br />correct this situation. <br /> <br /> Lyles made motion, seconded by Hill to approve the following road petition. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> E~rnhardtRoad ....... Request for Surface ~reatment <br /> <br /> Mr. J. Lee Pharr requested approval for his sanitary landfill site in Cabarrus County. This <br />site is located on the NcDonald Hill Road. Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to [~rant this approval. <br />Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Havt~ng no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> ~=~l~rk ~o Board <br /> <br /> <br />
