The Cabarrus County Co~mixsioncrs met at their regular meetin9 Monday, July 6, 196h, <br /> <br />at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles ~ <br /> <br /> Meetin9 called to order tly Chairman James. Minutes of the June meeting were read by <br /> <br />Cloie Hancock and starld approved. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to approve the following road petitions~ <br /> <br /> BurDin St. SR~I??6 ........ Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Sedan Ave. SR~2066 ........ Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Burke St.-- ............... Request for Addition <br /> Ester Circle ............... Request for Addition <br /> Road between Miami Ch. Rd. & fIaigler Rd.----Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Hill ~mde motion, seconded by l~les to adopt the resolutions for Kannapolis Sanitary <br />District, setting their tax rate at eight cents and Park~ood Sanitary District, setting their <br />tax rate at fifteen cents. Vote carried. Resolutions found on following pages, o7~-~ <br /> <br /> Dr. Workm~n came before board concerning rural garbage routes. He stated the men wanted <br />to meet with the Board the first meeting in August. He also stated since the city had dis- <br />continued their spraying service, the HealthDept. would need $1960.76 in order not to lose <br />State's funds. Coeanissioners agreed to consider this request. <br /> <br /> 'Representatives from {)dell P.T.A. came before the board requesting their gym be started <br />immediately. This matter was discussed at length and no action was taken. <br /> <br /> ltrs. Long, Director of the Welfare Dept. requested the Welfare budget be reconsidered and <br /> <br />the extra money she requested be granted in order to take care of the Kerr-Mills Plan.
