363 <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Friday, March 19, 1965, <br />at 10:45 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McReil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. The following resolution was <br />approved by motion of McNeil Petrea and seconded by Oren Hill. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a Citizens Board was heretofore appointed by the Board of County <br /> <br />Commissioners to study the N. C. State Building Code and particularly the portion <br />thereof relating to plumbing and to make such recommendations thereafter as such <br />Board should see fit to make; and <br /> WHEREAS, said Citizens Board did in writing under date of November 24, 1964, <br />submit its recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of said recommendations was: That the Board of County Commissiol~ers <br /> employ a qualified plumbing inspector under the provisions of General Statute <br /> section 153-9 (47) after the enactment of legislation if such be necessary to <br /> extend said General Statute subsection to Cabarrus County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds merit in the aforesaid <br /> recommendation and deems it desirable to employ a qualified plumbing inspector <br /> or inspectors as is allowed and permitted in some counties of the state by <br /> General Statute 153-9 (47); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus desires <br /> to have the authorization permitted by General Statute 153-9 (47) extended by <br /> the General Assembly to include the applicability thereof to Cabarrus County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> the County of Cabarrus does hereby request that the duly elected representatives <br /> for Gabarrus County in the General Assembly introduce, support and seek passage <br /> of such bill or bills as may be required to include the County of Cabarrus within <br /> the provisions of General Statute 153-9 (47), and that a copy of this resolution <br /> be forthwith transmitted by the Secretary to the Honorable C. Frank Griffin and <br /> the Honorable Dwight Quinn at Raleigh, North Carolina. <br /> <br /> It was agreed by Commissioners to have Mr. J. U. Readling, Electrical <br /> Inspector at Monday's meeting, March 22, 1965 for discussion. <br /> <br /> Bids were received from the following companies for revaluation of Cabarrus <br /> County: <br /> <br /> (1) Consolidated Mapping --no bid <br /> <br /> (2) H. L. Yoh Co., Philaadelphia, Pa. $196,800.00 <br /> (3) Associated Surveys Co., Greensboro, N.C. $140,000.00 <br /> (4) Cole-Layer-Trumble Co., Dayton, OhiO -$155,000.00 <br /> (5) Southern Appraisal Co., Greensboro, N.C. -$159,500.00 <br /> <br /> It was agreed that a decision would be reached on Monday, April 5, 1965, <br /> concerning bids. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Long, Director of Welfare Dept. was before Board concerning an indigent <br /> patient, Hubert Rogers, whom Dr. George G. Culbreth requested be sent to Charlotte <br /> Memorial Hospital. The price for Charlotte Memorial Hospital is $30.68 per day <br /> and funds are only set up for $20.00 per day. Commissioners agreed to only pay <br /> the set $20.00 per day and not the difference in prices. <br /> <br /> ~x)~:~m~)~)~~e 364) <br /> <br /> <br />
