THE CABARRUS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS met at their regular meeting Dec. 6, 1965, <br /> <br />at the Courthouse. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Oren Hill, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Rev. D. P. Smotherman. Minutes <br /> <br />of last meeting were read and stand approved. <br /> <br /> Lyles made motion, seconded by ~etrea, to approve the Clerk's audit for 1964-1965. <br /> <br />Vote carried. <br /> <br />The One Mile Perimeter Planning Board requested commissioners to adopt their <br />recommendation for changing names of some streets and house numbers in the county. Motion <br />by Hill, seconded by Petrea, to approve the program and to spend, if needed, the $1000 appropria~ d <br />in the 1965 budget for this cause. Vote carried. <br /> <br />It was agreed that 'Cabarrus County would be host for the Association of County <br />Commissioners meeting on Thursday, Feb. 17, 1966. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> THE BOARD OF 00MMIS~ION~RS FOR THE COUNTY OF ~CABARRUS, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />meeting at its regular session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, at 10:00 A.M., <br />on December 5, 1965. <br /> PRESENT: Chairman C. Frank James and Commissioners W. Frank McCray, C. McNeil Petrea <br />and M. Smoot Lyles. · <br /> ABSENT: J~ Oren 'Hill. <br /> The Committee heretofore appointed to investigate the purchase of Raymond D. Snyder <br />Building and the Walter Patterson Estate property have made the following report: <br /> . 1..That the Snyder property may be purchased for the sum of Thirty-five Thousand Dollars <br />($ 35,000.00) payable in four annual installments without interest and the Patterson Estate <br />property may be Purchased for the sum of Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($36,000.00) without interes~ <br />payable in four armual ins~tallments. <br /> 2. That the above Price is a fair and reasonable price for the respective properties,' and <br />that it would be for the "be~t interest of Cabarrus County to purchase said properties. <br /> <br /> 3. That the 1965 Legislature passed Bill No. authorizing Cabarrus County to levy a <br />special tax to acquire county buildings and sites not to exceed two-cents on One Hundred Dollars <br />and not to exceed four years. <br /> <br /> THEREUPON the motion of C. McNeil Petrea and seconded by M. Smoot Lyles, the following <br />resolution was unanimously~'adopted; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS for OABARRUS COUNTY; <br /> <br /> 1. That Cabar~as County purchase the Ra~mond D. Snyder property adjoining the Cabarrus <br />County Courthouse property'for the sum of Thirty-five Thousand Dollar~ ($35,000.00) without <br />interest to be paid as follows: The mum of Eight-Thousand- Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($8,750.00~ <br />to be paid upon the delivery~ of a good and sufficient deed for the said property and the balance t~ <br />be paid in three annual installments due August 1, 1966, August 1, 1967 and August 1, 1968. <br /> <br /> 2. That Cabarrus County purchase the Walter Patterson Estate property adjoining the <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse property for the sum of Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($36,000.00) <br />without interest to be paid as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
