433 <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to release 1/8 interest of B. B. Helms <br /> Estate now owned by B.L. Parham, upon receipt of payment of his share from <br /> sale of property. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Long, Welfare Director appeared before Board concerning the new <br /> accounting procedure for welfare checks. The new procedure will be for checks <br /> to be mailed directly from Raleigh instead of Bccountants office, however the <br /> Accountant will receive a check register sheet, plus the canceled checks from <br /> local bank. ~Cray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve same on the <br /> basis of Mr. Hurt and Mrs. Long's approval after the meeting in Chapel Hill on <br /> Thursday of this week. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hurt stated the County Dog Warden requested he be provided uniforms. <br /> No decision reached at this time. <br /> <br /> The state inspection report of the county jail was discussed. Commissioners <br /> visited the jail to see what improvements could be made. Commisioners agreed <br /> to have someone check the jail and have it plastered, painted , fix windows, and <br /> clean it up for the present. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that the County would pay Mark Kitris salary at $575. per month <br /> until other agreements are reached. <br /> <br /> The following good and lawful citizens were drawn for Superior Court Jury: <br /> 1st ~ek <br /> Vance E.
