The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, <br />May 2, 1966, at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse. <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioner, Oren Hill <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Mr. Smith, State Jail Inspector, <br />appeared before the Board and made comments concerning his report on the jail. <br />Commissioners agreed to make necessary repairs on the present jail and to make <br />plans to work towards a new jail and courthouse. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to approve the following road petitiors: <br /> <br /> T-~ Sides Town #SR1397 Request for Surface Treatment <br /> T-1 Oakside Dr.(Harrisburg) Request for Addition <br /> T-4 Greenview Dr. Request for Addition <br /> T-ii Dulin Ave. Request for Addition <br /> T-1 Patricia Ave. Request for Addition <br /> T-1 The Plaza Request for Addition <br /> T-ii Plotts Circle Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Sides Town SR#1398 (1) Request for Surface Treatment <br /> T-4 Sides Town SR#1398 (2) Request for Surface Treatment <br /> <br /> Attorney Llewellyn discussed the balance owing American Air Surveys in the <br />amount of $6900. It was agreed to have a special meeting when full board is <br />present to reach a decision on this matter. <br /> <br /> It was agreed to permit Attorney Llewellyn to check into the matter of the <br />welfare lien of Susie N. Butler and make such disposition as may be for the best <br />interest of the county. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Long, Director of Welfare Dept. presented her adminstrative budget. <br />Commissioners accepted this as a tentative budget in order that she may notify <br />Raleigh. <br /> <br /> Commissioners agreed to award Belk's Dept, Store the bid for Sheriff's <br />uniforms. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the Schedule of Privilege <br />License Tax presented by Gice Allen.
