A portion of the Grand Jury report concerning needed rest rooms at the County Home <br /> property was discussed. The Board instructed the County Accountant to check with the Health <br /> Department about the requirements and report at next monthly meettn§. <br /> <br /> Dr. 3. D. Workman, Health Director, reported two Cabarrus County Garbage Collectors have <br /> lost their permits by fatlin§ to have their equipment inspected properly. Commissioners agreed <br /> the problem should be handled by Health Department. Another matter requestin§ salary increase <br /> for a clerk was referred to the Health Board. <br /> <br /> Mr. Les Myers, Mayor of the City of Concerd, requested the Commissioners' help in adjusting <br /> property valuation of land on Academy Street donated to the City by the Public Service Company. <br /> Commissioners agreed to grant this request. <br /> <br /> A letter from Mrs. M. S~oot Lyles was brought to the attention of the Board notifying them <br />of the appointment of Mrs. R. Ed Davis as successor to Mrs. Jane Nierenbur§ as Curator of the <br />Museura. <br /> <br /> Attorney W. L. Mills recommended that S. I. Parker, Joe Gaskey, and Gene Verble be appointed <br />to the Adjusting Board for the County Board to succeed the following members who have moved out <br />of the district: Earl Walters, Claude Penninger, and $. L. Hartsell. He also recommended that <br />Lynn Bradford and Ken Willis be appointed as alternates. McCray made motion, seconded by Hill. <br />Vote Carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Scott of Greensboro, an official of the State Planning Task Force, appeared before <br />the Board and asked if Commissioners would be interested in a tract system of taking the 1970 <br />Census. No decision was reached at this time. <br /> <br /> Ralph Litaker, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the Board requesting that John J. SmSth be <br />hired as full time appraiser for Cabarrus County at a salary of $120.00 weekly. Motlon made by <br />Petrea, seconded by Hill. Voted for - Petrea and Hill; Abstained from voting - Lyles; Absent - <br />McCray. <br /> <br /> The following good and lawful citizens were drawn for jury duty for two weeks of Superior <br /> <br />Court: First Week <br /> <br /> Fred Krimminger T-Il Mrs. Bessie J.
