513 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners met in a joint meeting with the Concord Board <br />of Aldermen, representatives of the Concord Chamber of Commerce, and a committee from thc <br />Harrisburg P.A.D.A. Association on Wednesday night, March 15, 1967, at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Purpose of the meeting was a discussion of the possibility of Westinghouse Electric <br />Corporation locating a proposed $65,000,000 nuclear ffurbine plant in Cabarrus County. <br />committee was formed to extend an invitation to Westinghouse to meet with a committee to discuss <br />and encourage location of this plant in Cabarrus County. The committee included Chairman <br /> <br />C. Frank 3ames of the Cabarrus County Commissioners, Mr. E. K. Pruitt~ and Dr. Robert McWhorter~ <br />of the Concord Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Pro-Tcm Alfred M. Brown, and a Harrisburg P.A.D.A. <br />official. In addition to the above organizations, Concord Postmaster William L. Sloop informed <br />Chairman James that the Post Office Department would cooperate fully in this matter. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Clerk to Board ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
