The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Thursday, June

1967, at 7:30 p.m. at the Courthouse. Present were:
Chairman - C. Frank James

Commissioners- White, Rankin, Petrea, and!.Hawfield.

Meeting was called to order by Chairman James.

Mr. Don Holt and Mr. 6eorge Batte representing Cannon Mills Company
discussed with the Board the growing problems ~f:~the operation of the Kannapolis
Police Department, and the need for additional personnel and additional financial
support from the County. A map of greater Kannapolts area was shown with the
territory owned by Cannon Mills receiving law protection and the additional area
outside the Cannon Mills property in which the department answers calls and
serves civil papers. After a discussion of this matter, the Board informed
Mr. Holt; and Mr. Batte that thorough study would have to be made before any
definite action could be taken.

Budget requests were discussed. No action was taken.

Having no further business, meeting adjourned.

~lerk to Board
