54S Commissioners directed the County Accountant to contact C & M Ambulance Service and to ~report at the August 7th meeting with a C & M Ambulance operator. Hawfield made motion, sec~aded by Rankin, that two men be appointed to study title and t .duties of County Director. Vote carried. Motion was made by Hawfield,seco~ded by Petrea, to adopt an ordinance regarding the use of ~earms in Cabarrus County which follows: Pursuant to Chapter B62 Public Laws of North Carolina, session 1939, the County Ccmmissioner~ of Cabarrus County do ordain: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to use and discharge any firearm, B B gun, or air compression gun, of an~ kind, nature, make, or description within a distance of five hundred yards of any business or residential district in the County of Cabarrus situat~ outside the corporate Limits of any and all municipalities in said C~unty. Section 2. A business or residential district wit ~hin~ the ~ of this o~ce shall be that territory continuous to a street or highway where seventy-five per cent or more of the frontage thereon for a distance of three hundred feet or more is mal uly occupied by dwellings or by dwellings and buildings in use for business perposes. Section 3. Nothing herein shall be construed so as to probit any person from discharging any firearm in protection of his person, family, guests, or property. Section 4. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be guil~'~of a misdeameanor and shall be fined not exceeding fifty dollars or imprisoned not exceeding thirt~ days. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after July 3, 1967. Adopted this 3 day of July 1967.
