Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Hawfield,seco~ded by Petrea, to adopt an ordinance regarding the use of <br /> <br /> ~earms in Cabarrus County which follows: <br /> <br /> Pursuant to Chapter B62 Public Laws of North Carolina, session 1939, the County Ccmmissioner~ <br /> of Cabarrus County do ordain: <br /> <br /> Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to use and discharge any firearm, B B gun, or <br /> air compression gun, of an~ kind, nature, make, or description within a distance of five <br /> hundred yards of any business or residential district in the County of Cabarrus situat~ <br /> outside the corporate Limits of any and all municipalities in said C~unty. <br /> <br /> Section 2. A business or residential district wit ~hin~ the ~ of this o~ce shall be <br /> that territory continuous to a street or highway where seventy-five per cent or more of the <br /> frontage thereon for a distance of three hundred feet or more is mal uly occupied by dwellings <br /> or by dwellings and buildings in use for business perposes. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Nothing herein shall be construed so as to probit any person from discharging <br /> any firearm in protection of his person, family, guests, or property. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction <br /> thereof, be guil~'~of a misdeameanor and shall be fined not exceeding fifty dollars or <br /> imprisoned not exceeding thirt~ days. <br /> <br /> Section 5.
