595 <br /> <br /> \ <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD <br /> OF COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> Attorney James C. Johnson, Jr. presented to the Board <br /> <br /> of Commissioners the following proposal: <br /> <br /> 1. That the above named attorney is informed that <br /> <br /> the property known as Concord Job Printery and the Shoe <br /> Hospital owned by Mrs. Richmond Reid and Mrs. John F. Reid <br /> can be purchased by the County and in addition thereto that <br /> the property known as the Archey Building presently owned by <br /> the Cannon Foundation cam also be purchased by the county; <br /> <br /> 2. That the above named property is adjacent to the <br /> <br /> prpperty now owned by the county and is necessary for the <br /> future development and expanding functions of the county <br /> government; that said property is necessary for said'expa~IS.ion <br /> and development and that it would be in the best interest of <br /> the county $o acquire said property. <br /> <br /> ~$,-~p.Qn the motion of Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr., seconded <br /> <br /> by C. McNeil Petrea, the ifollowing preambles and resoldti, ons <br /> are unanimously adopted the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County because of increasing~la-nd ex- <br /> <br /> panding functions of the ,county government is in need of addi' <br /> ti'onal property adjacent to its present county courthouse; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property now owned by Mrs. Richmond Reid <br /> <br />and Mrs. John F. Redi along with the property now owned by <br /> <br /> the Cannon Foundation is adjacent 'to the county courthouse <br /> <br />property an~ is needed by Cabarrus County for its use in ~'*~ion ;wi th its courthouse property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the'C0un~y BOard of Commissioners fee that it <br /> <br />would be in the best interest to authorize C. Frank James, <br />Chairman of the CabarrusCounty Board of Commissioners, to be <br />authorized to negotiate on the 'behalf of the County for the <br />purchase of said property and report back to the Board regard- <br />lng the purchase of said property. <br /> <br /> <br />
