PUBLIC HEARING RELATING TO AMBULANCE <br /> SERVICE IN CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br /> A public hearing was held at the Courthouse in Concord, <br /> North Carolina, at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 1968 <br /> pursuant to Chapter 153, Sec. 9 (58) of the General Statutes <br /> of North Carolina relating to providing adequate ambulance <br /> in said County. <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County find as a <br /> fact that the enactment of the following ordinance and granting <br /> of ~he following franchise is necessary to assure that adequate <br /> and continuing ambulance service is provided in the County <br /> and is necessary to preserve, protect and promote the public <br /> health, safety, and general welfare within Cabarrus County· <br /> For the reasons stated, upon motion of Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr <br /> seconded by F. J. Beasle¥, Jr.the following ordinance was <br /> unanimously passed: <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus <br /> County: <br /> <br /> 1. From and after October 1, 1968, it shall be unlawful <br /> to provide ambulance service or to operate ambulances in <br /> Cabarrus County without having been granted a franchise to <br /> do so; <br /> <br /> 2. A franchise for a period to and including June 30, 196~ <br /> commencing on this day is hereby granted to C & M Ambulance <br /> Service, Inc. to provide ambulance service wi thin' -Cabarrus <br /> County, provided that charges for said service shall be as' <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> (a) $20.00 per trip for each trip within Cabarrus County <br /> (b) $ .6~ per mile for trips originating in Cabarrus <br /> <br /> County and extending beyond the County line. <br /> <br /> 3. This franchise is granted to C & M Ambulance Service, <br /> Inc. on condition that it maintain in full force and effect <br /> <br />JOHNSON, DAVIS&HORTOI*] at all times public liability and property damage insurance <br /> ATTORNEYS AT LAW <br /> ,,COR.^N^,..,.W. in the amounts Of $ 40,000 and $ 50,000 <br /> CONCORD, N. C. <br /> <br />$,,?£,I,p,oF£s$1ON&L,LD~. 4. Cabarrus County agrees to pay to C & M Ambulance <br />KAN~IAPOLIS, N. C. <br /> <br /> 1 Service, Inc. for providing said service the sum of $~,000.00 <br /> per month during the time that this franchise is in effect. <br /> <br /> <br />
