Clerk's office prepared by Daniel and Daniel C;P.A. Hawfleld made motion, <br /> <br /> seconded by Rankin, to accept the audit as presented. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Hawfield made motion, seconded by Petrea, to approve a full page ad <br /> <br /> setting forth the progress made by Cabarrus County to appear in the Progress and <br /> Historical edition of the Kannapolis Daily Independent. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Ksnnapolis Chief R. L. Ketchie, and Concord Police Major Bob McKay. requested <br /> that action be taken to eliminate pin ball machines in the County. The County <br /> attorney was instructed to check into the matter. <br /> <br /> County Manager Hurt presented a schedule of the holidays being observed by <br /> the various County departments. Rankin made motion, seconded by Hawfield,. to <br /> set the following holiday schedule to be uni/'ormly observed by .County departments <br /> New Year's Day, Easter Monday, July k, Labor Day, Thanksgiving,. December 2k,25,26 <br /> for Christmas. Vote carried. County Manager Hurl~ was instructed to inform the <br /> County Departments of. this schedule. <br /> <br /> A ~discussion was held regarding a request by the Board to Cabarrua Memorial <br /> Hospital for a portion of ,~he Country Club Property to be reserved for use as <br /> a health center. As this request was made before the hospital completed purchase <br /> of the land, County Manager Hurt was instructed to write to the Hospital Board <br /> of Trustees asking for this request to be considered in the near future. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Beasley to approve the following road <br /> <br /> petitions. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Twn. ll Road bearing to left of Road#11~5 Request for addition <br /> 1 House Road Request for addition <br /> b, Arterial connection Join~ .Victoria Request for addition <br /> Ave. and Klondale Ave. <br /> 1 Riverside Drive, Rocky River Place, Request for addition <br /> Roberts Place, and River Bend Dr. <br /> b, Road # 1666 Beuna Street Surface Treatment <br /> 5 Road # 20~8 Gold Hill Road Replacement of <br /> bridge. <br /> <br /> Having no further bus~ness, meeting ad3ourned. <br /> <br />Correction. to minutes of January 6, 1959: Correction on page 662 wherein the <br /> <br />Board requested the legislators to have ready the necessary legislation for a <br /> <br />referendum for a local option sales tax if a proposal for a storewide increase in <br />sales tax fails. The Board also agreed to present the legislators with a state- <br />ment of specific financial needs and to invite them back in 60 to 90 days to <br /> <br />discuss these needs further. <br /> A.
