A discussion was held concerning the proposed County landfill with <br /> <br />Commissioners Hawfield and Rankin being given the power to act in discusslng~ <br />with the City of Concord the possibility of purchasing or leasing their <br />machine now in use at the City landfill, or the feasibility of operating the <br />landfill under contract. The County Nanager was instructed to obtain bids- f~rom <br />contractors for an operator and a machine with a capability of not less than <br />D-b, caterpillar tractor on an hourly basis. <br /> <br /> .County Tax Collector C. Otce Allen~ Jr,, presented a recorranended schedule <br /> <br />B priviledge License Taxes for the fiscal year June 1, 1969 thru l~ay 31, 1970. <br />Motion was made by Hawfield, seconded by Rankin, to approve the levy aa presented <br /> <br />Vote was unanimous. This schedule is recorded on pages '~o~ thru ~%~L-~ <br />and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Couhty Attorney James C. Davis discussed with the Board the 1961 act <br />authorizing .the Cabarr.u$ Cou~t.y.B~acd~ol' Commls~.ioners to levy an admission tax <br />on racetracks located w. tthln .the .County, He reported that John Merrlsly, <br />Genera I Counsel.£orthe N. C. Assoc tat ion of County Commissi.oners. r..ecommended <br />tha.t the.County proceed wi-th the le~ing of this tax by the Board, Hawfield <br />made motion, seconded by l~lcClary to table_the matter for the pre_sent but that <br /> <br />action be taken later in the month. Voted yes - Hawfield and McClary. Voted no- <br />Pe. tree. Absta [ned - Rankin. ~ <br /> <br /> The Board also discussed with the County Attorney the proposed anthaoise <br />ordinance, and title to~th.e Ol.d Phtf~r Cemetery .property, Attorney Davis Informed <br />the Board ~that his wQrk was not yet completed on the anti-noise~ ordinance and <br />that. no record had b~e.n found., as ta theownars..af the Cemetery property. <br /> <br /> County Building and Plumbing Inspector Charlie Irvin recommended to the= <br /> <br />Board that aa assistant be employed who could h~ndl~ heatir~g and airconditioning <br />inspections and who could work to~ards qua. li£ying.as an electrical inspector. <br />Commissioners approved the request and ~.instructed applications for the position <br />be taken. <br /> <br /> Hawfield made mo~ion, secon_de-d.,by Petrea, to accept the_ foll._ow~ing r. oad <br /> <br /> T- Tiffany Drive - Request fo~ ' add it ion t° state. <br /> T-7 Prison ~p Road Road No,2;!!!;! - Request surface treatment. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Cl~rk to Board~ <br /> <br /> <br />
