~ftlliam Arthur Bundy asked if the Board could prohibit tcec're~'~n*trucks from <br /> <br />parking on Lane Street in Kannapolis due to the fact that the street was not wide <br />enough to accomodate parkin~ on the shoulder and reported that a child had been <br />killed by a car driven by his wife under these circumstances. The matter was <br />referred to the Cou~i~y Attorney for study. <br /> <br /> County Tax Collector C. Otce Allen, Jr., presented 196~ tax settlement for <br />approval. Petrea made motion, seconded by McClary, to accept the settlement as <br />presented. Vote was unanimous. The settlement is recorded on page ?b/~ and <br />becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McClary, to appoint Chester E. Avant as <br />County-wide Electrical Inspector. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Commissioners Petrea and McClary brought the Board's attention to a request <br />by the priu~tpal of A¥cock School concerning a twice-a-day traffic problem at <br />the school. After a discussion the Board agreed to turn this matter over to <br />Kanna~olis Police Chief Robert L..Ketchte. <br /> <br /> There being no persons present to object to the proposed parade ordinance, <br />Hawfteld made motion, seconded by Petrea, to adopt an ordinance requiring permits <br />for certain parades and processiuns held in Cabarrus County. The ordinance was <br />ordered recorded in the County Ordinance Book as requ4red by law. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br /> <br /> County Manager Hurt informed the Board that the Water Line for the Fairground <br />Association was hooked to the meter at the Health Department and that the water <br />bill for the month of September amounted to approximately $189.00. Commissioners <br />instructed Mr. Hurt to take this matter up with the Fair Association manager for <br />sett lament. <br /> <br /> Hawfield made motion, seconded by Petrea, to approve the following road <br />petition: <br /> <br /> Township # 4 Violet Terrace Request for addition. <br /> <br /> Having no further bu~ness, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
