760 The regular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioners was held at 9:90 A.M. on January .~, Ig?O, at the Courthouse with the following members present: Chairman: C. Frank James Commissioners: S. Glenn Hawfteld, Jr., C. McNeil Petrea, Robert A. McClary, and Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr. Chairman James called the meeting to order. Prayer was by the Reverend Bill Sart in. Estus B. White, Clerk of Superior Court, presented the annual audit for hfs office for the period December 1, lq6~J through November ?0, 1969. Hawfield made mot/on, seconded by McClary, to accept audit as presented. Vote was unanimous. Commissioners requested Mr. White to prepare an outltne of the commissioners responsibilities under the new court system wb. tcb will become effective in Cabarrus County December 1, 1~70. Minutes were read and approved. Petrea made motion, seconded by Rankin, to approve holidays for County employees for the next twelve months as follows: EaSter Monday, July b~, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, December 2h,25,26 for Christmas, and Jan~.~y 1, 1971, New Years Day. Vote was unanimous. C. C. Sloop, Sr., requested an increase in his daily pay as bailiff for the courts. Commissioners stated that this would ha~ to be done at the next bud get. Director of Social Services Mrs. Frances Long requested the Board to appropriate $9~1.00 from surplus to be transferred to the A.F.D.C. fund to restore cuts made by the State. The request was unanimously approved upon motion by Rankin, seconded by Hawfield. Mrs. Long also reported on the matter of the hospital bill for Bt/ce S. Stor~ who was a prisoner in Cabarrus County at the time. She pointed out that Mr. Story was a resident of Iredell County at the time and still resides in Iredell County. She suggested that the hospital prepare forms N.C.2 and forward them to the Iredell County Department of Social Services.
