760 <br /> <br /> The regular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioners was held <br /> <br />at 9:90 A.M. on January .~, Ig?O, at the Courthouse with the following members <br /> <br />present: Chairman: C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: S. Glenn Hawfteld, Jr., C. McNeil Petrea, <br /> Robert A. McClary, and Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr. <br /> <br />Chairman James called the meeting to order. Prayer was by the Reverend Bill <br /> <br />Sart in. <br /> <br /> Estus B. White, Clerk of Superior Court, presented the annual audit for hfs <br /> <br />office for the period December 1, lq6~J through November ?0, 1969. Hawfield <br />made mot/on, seconded by McClary, to accept audit as presented. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br /> <br /> Commissioners requested Mr. White to prepare an outltne of the commissioners <br />responsibilities under the new court system wb. tcb will become effective in <br />Cabarrus County December 1, 1~70. <br /> <br /> Minutes were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Rankin, to approve holidays for County <br />employees for the next twelve months as follows: EaSter Monday, July b~, Labor <br />Day, Thanksgiving Day, December 2h,25,26 for Christmas, and Jan~.~y 1, 1971, <br />New Years Day. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> C. C. Sloop, Sr., requested an increase in his daily pay as bailiff for <br />the courts. Commissioners stated that this would ha~ to be done at the next <br />bud get. <br /> <br /> Director of Social Services Mrs. Frances Long requested the Board to <br />appropriate $9~1.00 from surplus to be transferred to the A.F.D.C. fund to <br />restore cuts made by the State. The request was unanimously approved upon <br />motion by Rankin, seconded by Hawfield. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Long also reported on the matter of the hospital bill for Bt/ce S. Stor~ <br />who was a prisoner in Cabarrus County at the time. She pointed out that Mr. Story <br />was a resident of Iredell County at the time and still resides in Iredell County. <br />She suggested that the hospital prepare forms N.C.2 and forward them to the <br />Iredell County Department of Social Services. <br /> <br /> Bids for operating the County landfill for the next twelve months were <br /> <br />opened from the following: <br /> <br /> <br />
