The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, met at a called: <br /> <br /> session at the Courthouse, at 3:00 p.m., July 2, 1971. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> Commissioners - Robert A. McClary, C. Frank James <br /> Charles Gallimore, John Hammett <br /> <br /> County Accountant Fred T Riley, presented the summary of the estimated <br /> <br /> budget for the fiscal year 1972-72. After discussion, motion made by <br /> Hammett, seconded by McClary, to accept the tentative budget as presented, <br /> and to set the tentative tax rate at $1.23 per $100.00 valuation. There <br /> were three votes for adoption of the budget; one vote against (James). <br /> <br /> Motion made by Gallimore, seconded by McClary, to accept Sanitary <br /> <br /> District and Fire Department tax rates, for the 1971/72 year as presented <br /> <br /> by the various districts. The rates are as follows: <br /> <br /> Harrisburg Volunteer Fire Department .07 <br /> Midland Volunteer Fire Department .05 <br /> Jackson Park Fire Department .05 <br /> A. T. Allen Fire Department .05 <br /> Rimer Fire Department .09 <br /> Poplar Tent Volunteer Fire Department .08 <br /> Kannapolis Sanitary District .40 <br /> Mt.
