The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, <br />met in an adjourned regular session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North <br />Carolina, the regular place of meeting, at 10 o'clock A.M., on August 16, 1971. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr., and Commissioners <br /> <br />Robert A. McClary, Charles Gallimore, C. Frank James, John Hammett. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> <br /> Also present: Fred T. Riley, County Accountant, and Joyce Misenheimer, <br />Clerk of the Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br /> Thereupon Commissioner McClary introduced the fOllowing order authorizing <br />bonds which was read: <br /> <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $1,500,000 COUNTY COURTHOUSE BONDS <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDERED AND RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br />1. That, pursuant to The County Finance Act, as amended, the County <br />of Cabarrus, North Carolina, is hereby authorized to contract a debt, in addition <br /> <br />to any other debt County may now or hereafter have power or <br /> and <br /> all <br /> which <br /> said <br /> <br />authority to contract, and in evidence thereof to issue County Courthouse Bonds <br />in an aggregate principal amount not exceeding $1,500,000 for the purpose of <br />providing funds, with any other available funds, for constructing and equipping <br />a new County Courthouse and the acquisition of any necessary land and rights of <br />way. <br /> <br /> 2. That a tax sufficient to pay the principal of and the interest <br /> <br />on said bonds when due shall be annually levied and collected. <br /> <br /> 3. That a statement of the County debt for other than school purposes <br />has been filed with the Clerk and is open to public inspection. <br /> <br /> 4. That this order shall take effect when approved by the voters <br /> <br />of the County at an election as provided in the County Finance Act, as <br /> <br />amended. <br /> <br /> The Board thereupon designated the County Accountant as the officer to <br />make and file with the Clerk the statement of debt and assessed valuation of <br />the County as required by The County Finance Act, as amended, to be filed before <br />the final passage of the order which was introduced at this meeting. <br /> <br /> Thereupon the County Accountant filed with the Clerk, in the presence <br />of the Board, the statement of debt and assessed valuation as required. <br /> <br /> <br />
