The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina met <br /> <br />in regular session at the County Courthouse in Concord, on June 5, 1972 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr.' <br /> Commissioners - Robert A. McClary <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> C. Frank James <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Invocation was by the Reverend Charles C. Savage. <br /> <br /> Ninutes of the April 6, 1972 meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Nr. Noody, representing Fisher & Noody, and Nr. Willie Davis (Garbage Haulers) <br /> <br />came before the board to register a complaint against Fleming for crossing boundary <br /> <br />lines. The Board asked Attorney Boier to check into the matter. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion to give permission to advertise for bids on the demolition <br /> <br />of the Allison Building. Notion was seconded by James and vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> After a brief discussion of the rate increase for accident insurance issued by <br /> <br />BI~ Cross Blue Shield, James made a motion that the county absorb the added $ .60 <br />which would raise the county's share to $8.10. Notion was seconded by Gallimore and <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Hammett made motion to adopt the resolution honoring the life of Robert J. Eury. <br /> <br />NcClary seconded the motion. Vote Carried. This resolution is recorded on page 141 <br /> <br />and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made a motion, seconded by NcClary to accept the following resolution: <br /> <br /> BI IT RESOLVED that the Resolution enacted on July 3, 1967 adopting the <br /> North Carolina Building Code is amended by changing the first paragraph <br /> thereof to read as follows: <br /> ~(1) the North Carolina Uniform Residential Building Code as set <br /> out in the 1968 edition and any and all amendments thereto as published <br /> by the North Carolina Building Code Council and the North Carolina <br /> Department of Insurance <br /> (2) the North Carolina State Building Code, the 1971 edition, <br /> together with any and all amendments thereto as published by the North <br /> Carolina Building Code Council and North Carolina Department of Insurance <br /> (3) the laws, rules, and regulations of the North Carolina State <br /> Building Code, and any and all amendments thereto be adopted by Cabarrus <br /> County and that all of said laws, rules, and regulations be made applicable <br /> to all buildings to be erected in Cabarrus County on and after the 5th day <br /> of June 1972.~ <br /> Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Charlie Irwin, Building Inspector, presented a request for updated building and <br /> <br /> electrical fees which would bring these in line with those of surrounding counties. <br /> These new rates are recorded on page 137 and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> Gallimore made motion to accept the new rates with James seconding the motion. <br /> Vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joe Shue with C & M Ambulance Service came before the Board asking for <br /> <br /> a signed contract and relief on welfare patients. The Board asked him to present <br /> <br /> a written request before they took futher action. <br /> <br /> Sergeant Richard Church, City of Concord Taxicab Inspector, representing ! <br /> <br /> Concord taxicab drivers appeared before the Board asking them to check the <br /> <br /> franchise boundaries. The County Attorney was Instructed to investigate the matter. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion, seconded by Hammett to adopt the resolution creating <br /> <br /> the Jackson Park Sanitary District. Vote carried unanimously. T~is resolution <br /> <br /> is recorded on page 142 and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> <br />
