The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners presented <br /> <br />certified copies of resolutions which had been received from The <br />Cabarrus County Board of Education, The Kannapolis City Board of <br />Education and The Concord City Board of Education. <br /> <br /> Thereupon Commissioner Robert A. McClary <br /> <br />introduced the following order authorizing bonds whih. h was read: <br /> <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZING $9,750,000 SCHOOL BUILDING BONDS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Education has <br />certified to this Board a resolution passed on February 1, 1.972; <br />and whereas, the Kannapolis City Board of Education has certified <br />to this Board a resolution passed on February 1, 1972; and whereas, <br />the Concord City Board of Education has certified to this Board a <br />resolution passed on January 24, 1972, each resolution showing that~' <br />adequate s~hool facilities are not now available in the several school <br />administrative units in Cabarrus County to'comply with the require- <br />ments of Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution of North Carolina <br />for the maintenance of schools nine months in every year, and that <br />it is necessary, in order to maintain such nine months' school term <br />as required by said Section 2 of Article-IX of the Constitution~ to <br />erect additional school buildings and other school plant facilities, <br />remodel, enlarge and reconstruct existing school buildings and other <br />school plant facilities, and acquire necessary land and equipmen~ <br />thwefor, in order to provide additional school facilities in the several <br />units, the estimated cost of which is Nine Million Seven Hundred <br /> <br />Fifty Thousand Dollars ($9,750,000 '00); this sum to be divided among <br />the Several ul~its based upon the per capita enrollment of Cabarrus <br />County students in each of the three units as certified by the State Bm rd <br />of Education for the school year 197.1-72; and <br /> <br /> <br />
