Section 3. From the canvass so made by this Board it <br /> <br />is determined and declared: <br /> <br /> (a) That 30.967 voters were registered and qualified <br /> <br />to vote. <br /> <br /> (b) That at said election 2~562 . votes ~ere cast for <br />the ordex authorizing the County of Cabarrus to contract a debt <br />and in evidence thereof to issue not exceeding $9,750,000 School <br />BuiLding Bonds for the purpose of providing funds, with any other <br />available funds, for erecting additional school buildings and <br />other s~hool plant facilities, remodeling: enlarging and recon- <br />structing existing school buildings and other school plant facil- <br />ities, and acquiring necessary land and equipment therefor, in <br />order to provide additional school facilities in said County to <br />maintain the nine months' school term as required by Section 2 of <br />Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy and col- <br />lection of a sufficient tax for the payment of the principal of <br />and the 'interest on said bonds, and 4,735 votes were cast against' <br />said order, that a majority of the qualified voters of said County <br /> <br />who voted thereon at said election voted against said order, <br />and that said order was thereby disapproYed. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner M¢Clary , seconded <br /> <br />by Commissioner Hammett , the foregoing resolution en- <br /> <br />titled: "RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND <br />ELECTION HELD SEPTEMBER 9, 1972 IN THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS, AND <br />DETERMINING AND DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF" was passed by the <br />following vote .. <br /> <br /> Ayes: Commissioners _ Mc..Cla. ry~ GalltmoreI James and H..ammett <br /> <br /> NO~S: None o <br /> <br /> <br />
