The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at <br />the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Tuesday, May 28, 1974, at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman:, S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> C. Frank James <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Jay Robinson, Stuart Black, William Irvin and Hal Farrell presented the Cabarrus <br />County School budget request. <br /> <br /> Albert Klimas, Health Director, presented the Health Department's budget request. <br /> No action was taken. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Gallimore reported on the status of the proposed Cabarrus County Fire <br />Marshall. <br /> <br /> Gallimore reported on a COG meeting relative to Manpower Committee and stated <br />that Cabarrus County had been allocated $262,000.00 for summer help. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield reported on a letter from Martha Marks, Mayor of Harrisburg <br />requesting that the Sales tax be distributed on a Per Capita basis instead of Ad <br />Valorem basis. Chairman Hawfield asked if anyone would make a motion to change the <br />Sales tax distribution from an Ad Valorem to a Per Capita basis.
