The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Friday, June 6, 1975, at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hinson made motion that the County enter into the agreement with the <br />Soil Conservation Service, United States Department of Agriculture as changed by <br />Attorney Boger for a soil survey and instruct Chairman Hawfield to sign this agreement. <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the budget and tentatively decided that they would not approve <br />any salary increases and no new positions. They discussed the possibility of establishing <br />a central supply room. <br /> <br /> Various departmental budgets were discussed. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion that they adjourneat 6:00 p.m. Motion seconded by <br />Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Having no fu~her business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Cl~k to the Board <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, June 9, 1975 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> Absent - Commissioner: John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Frances Long, Director of Social Services, presented her budget and discussed the <br />reason for thirteen new positions. She stated that with the Public Services Employees <br />that she presently has, they could handle the work load. At the time the budget was <br />prepared, if was not known whether this program would continue after August 1, 1975. <br />Therefore, she has requested these positions along with three new positions beginning <br />October when Title XX will come into effect. <br /> <br /> Kent Prewitt told the Board about the services the Concord Chamber of Commerce <br />provided. He stated that these services were provided free and felt the County's money <br />was well used. <br /> <br /> Various other departmental budgets were discussed. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
