The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at <br /> <br />the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Friday, June 13, 1975 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> Absent - Commissioner: John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hinson made motion to authorize Chairman Hawfield to sign the application <br /> <br />for Transit Study as presented by Attorney John Boger. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> <br />Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Board asked Frances Long, Director of Social Services, to delete the new positions <br /> <br />and refigure her budget. <br /> <br /> Leon Overcash, Dog Warden, presented the budget that would provide the manpower and <br /> <br />equipment to enforce a leash law for the entire County. <br /> <br />The Board briefly discussed the inventory tax bill that was before the N. C. Legislature. <br />W. Jack Alston, County Planner, discussed his budget and the request for a zoning <br />enforcement officer. He stated that if the proposed Zoning Ordinance is enacted that there <br />will be a very definite need for this position. <br /> <br /> Albert Klimas, Director of Health Department, Dr. Linny Baker and Mr. Joe Pike, <br /> <br />members of the Health Board, presented their budget requests. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made a motion to appoint Thomas M. Grady as Chairman of the <br /> <br />Bi-centennial Committee. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hinson and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Clerk~to the ~o~rd <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Tuesday, June 17, 1975 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Hinson <br /> <br /> Absent - Commissioner: Marcelle Milloway <br /> <br /> Jay Robinson, Superintendent of Cabarrus County Schools, presented and discussed the <br />schools' budget requests. The possible merger of ConCord City Schools and Cabarrus County <br />Schools was discussed. <br /> <br /> Terry Rowland, Tax Supervisor, discussed his budget and the request for a personal <br />property appraiser. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the request from the farm agents for military credit on the <br />retirement system. No action was taken. <br /> <br /> <br />
