The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br /> Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, June 23, 1975 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> Robert Shaver of the Farm Home Administration asked for either a secretary or an <br /> administrator to assist in preparing loans to home builders. He stated that they give loans <br /> to low income families who qualify, at lower than commercial interest rates. These loans <br /> would normally be turned down by businesses. The Board will consider the request. <br /> <br /> Sheriff J. B. Roberts, Jr. presented the Law Enforcement budget requests and discussed <br /> <br /> it with the Board. <br /> <br /> * Commissioner Hammett made a motion to approve an appropriation of $3,360.00 for <br /> <br /> the Community Relations Commission summer feeding program. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> McClary and vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made a motion to increase the Commissioner's fees to $100.00 per <br /> <br />** month and $200.00 per month for the Chairman plus $50.00 per diem for each additional <br /> <br /> meeting. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Roger G. Hinson <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made a motion to issue a fireworks permit to the Carolina Mall <br /> for a fireworks display on July 3,.~1975, as requested. Motion seconded by ComMissioner <br /> Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made a motion to award the construction bids on the Ambulance <br /> Satellite Building and the Public Health Center to the low bidders and to authorize <br /> Chairman Hawfield to execute the contracts.
