S. <br /> Department of Transportation effectuating the purposes of Title VI of the <br /> Civil Rights Act of 1964. <br /> <br /> 3. That W. Jack Alston, Cabarrus County Planner, is authorized to furnish <br /> such additional information as the U. S. Department of Transportation may <br /> require in connection with the application or the project. <br /> <br /> 4. That the Cabarrus County Planner is authorized to set forth and execute <br /> affirmative minority business policies in connection with the project's <br /> procurement needs. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hinson made motion, seconded by Commissioner McClary and carried, <br /> <br /> to send Flay Kiser to the Civil Preparedness Conference in Boone on July 15 and 16. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the tax rates for the fire and sanitary districts, but turned <br /> <br /> them over to Walter Burr, Fire Marshall, to compile a complete list of requested rates. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hawfield, seconded by Commissioner Hinson and carried, <br /> <br /> to accept the following road petitions: Request for addition - Irish Woods, Request <br /> for addition - Wolf Meadow School Road and Request for addition - Road ½ mile east on <br /> SR 1147. <br /> <br /> Nancy Templeman of J. N. Pease Associates discussed the graphics for the interior <br /> <br /> of the new Courthouse. Commissioner Hammett made motion to authorize Nancy Templeman <br /> to advertise for bids for the graphics for the interior of the new Courthouse. Motion <br /> seconded by Commissioner Hawfield and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Ha~ett made motion to authorize George Griffin, Architect, to purchase <br /> <br /> an exterior sign that would complement the interior graphics of the new Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hawfield seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br />* Nancy Templeman discussed the landscaping in the eight planters at the front of the <br /> new Courthouse. The Board took no action because it was not settled as to whether this <br /> would be included with the final landscaping at the completion of the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned until July 10, 1975. <br /> <br /> Cle~ 'to the Bo~ard - <br /> <br />* Corrected August 7, 1975 meeting to read eight planters on the inside of the new Courthouse. <br /> <br /> <br />
